It's so pathetic that nothing has been done about this despite an entire off-season to fix it. I don't love the Hendriks trade but at least the Jays realized the wisdom in cashing in an asset that you're going to under-utilize anyways. You can't have Casey wasting Johnson again. Casey needed to go or failing that Johnson should have been moved for a pick or something.

JJ just can't shoot. When your starting SG can't shoot either it's hard to fit JJ into your line-up.

Hahaha... poor guy, I'm surprised he hasn't asked for a trade.

 

He's really in a bad spot. Anything he does will just get him labelled a bad apple and vindicate his coach for benching him but at the same time there doesn't seem to be any hope that Casey will ever relent and give him a fair shake regardless. Casey simply is not fit to be put in a position of authority. That's the entire problem and until someone does something about it, Johnson's stuck between a rock and a hard place.

James Johnson is probably the teams third best player and still 10th on the depth chart. Casey is such a pathetic excuse for a coach

 

Your overrating JJ a ton. I doubt he has much value around the league. You get maybe a 2nd round pick back for him. His lack of a 3 point shot makes him a bad fit on the roster since CJ and Derozan don't shoot 3s. Especially with Biyombo on the court the spacing would be bad.

 

The only lineup he would work in really would be Lowry-Ross-JJ-Patterson-Biyombo.

lol overating? I forgot about Carroll so 4th best. He's a stud on defence, can rebound the ball, can handle it, push the ball in transition and knows how to move off the ball for back screen cuts. Derozan cant shoot either, neither can he play defence or rebound for the life of him. Who cares about value, I dont want him traded, just play him. Good things happen when he's on the court and the stats back that up. This isnt some hidden potential we all see in him, it's the results he actually produces that makes him valuable.

 

A Lowry, CoJO, Carrol, Johnson and JV lineup is the best we have but we'll never see it.

I like him as a player don't get me wrong but he's a 7th/8th man on the team. Last year he looked really good but honestly in his limited time on the floor this year he hasn't been good. Now I don't know if its because he wants to "prove" himself to get more playing time but he's really forced shots when he's gotten the ball which has led to turnovers. We're also dealing with a very small sample.

 

Everyone knows Derozan isn't going to be benched for JJ. I think after last year the coaching staff/FO doesn't want Lowry having to handle the ball so much so Derozan is being used a lot. If Derozan just cut out the 3-4 bad mid range shots a game he'd be a great player. He's great at driving to the rim and passing but those mid range shots kill his efficiency. I do think the coaching staff is improving in this area but there are still a few bad shots a game.

Wake me up when Derozan is gone so I can be a fan of this team again, f***ing pathetic

 

the ball hits his hands, time just disappears and then the raps have to take a s***** shot or he just chucks one up.
