GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Magic bench Oladipo for Channing Frye, lol. Buy low!
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I'd say Masai is an above average one. Yes the T Ross extension was awful but he's also made great moves like the Lowry extension and Bargs trade. He's well respected around the league and most NBA people will tell you he is a top 10 GM. I just can't see Toronto being better off with some other random GM. I also have zero confidence in MLSE/Air Canada President hiring the right guy. You know a lot of nba people?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I wouldn't call the Lowry extension "great." Just the right move to make that most GMs probably would've made. If Masai had his way initially, Lowry would have been traded to the Knicks for Shump and a 1st round pick.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 If Masai had his way initially, Lowry would have been traded to the Knicks for Shump and a 1st round pick. How would that have worked out?

Masai was going to tank but then they caught lightning in a bottle as we all know.

I think Masai has something to do with the culture of the org. and why the players liked being in Toronto. Like Lowry said before Masai came he hated everything about the org. Now if the Raps were winning when BC was here who knows if it all would of been the same but I think Masai brings something that most GMs don't have. I still can't believe Lowry makes so little though. 11 Million for an elite player like him is such a steal.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 You know a lot of nba people? Bill Simmons, Bob Voulgaris know a lot around the NBA.. and Bob at least is one of the smartest guys around the game.

No I'm asking if you know NBA people, not people who know NBA people. Actually I don't really care what NBA people think of Masai either, we can only judge his moves and right now he hasn't proven he's anything special as a gm. Of course, you probably need more than 3 years to judge a gm so I might be jumping the gun here but you can't say he's a good gm yet either.

If Bob Voulgaris says Masai is one of the top GMs I'll value his opinion pretty high. The guy is knows the NBA inside and out and makes 5 Million/year on it.

BB literally everything you're saying is pure speculation, hand waving, and appeal to authority. Masai's results are, well, mediocre. If we had insight to his process we'd evaluate that, but we don't.

Sure there might be better guys out there, but I really can't see MLSE hiring anyone better. Lets not forget they wanted friggen Phil Jackson before Masai.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Phil forsaw Porzingod. Better than Masai.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Hey the Brazilian Durant is only 1 year from being 1 year away.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Luis Scola is hilarious trying to take charges. He's been on fire offensively tonight though

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I could definitely play better defense on K. Love than what Scola is currently doing out there.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Lowry is so fun to watch. Just makes so many smart plays.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Brutal call. The f***ing guy jumps and still gets the charge to go his way.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Great ball movement. Love when this team plays selfless. Even DeRozan passing the ball off.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Lmao @ Love's "defense".
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 So like very other basketball game? She's even worse.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Cleveland's offence was a disaster. So many bad shots.
