Really wonder why Masai brought back Casey. He still is a horrible in-game coach. Masai seems like a smart GM but I don't get some of his latest moves. That Tross extension is already a disaster a week after signing it.

Yeah especially after the Ross contract I wouldn't be surprised if Masai might be another BC/AA, seemingly geniuses for the first couple of years and then their true colors show (although AA did redeem himself unlike BC). If MU gives DD a big contract this off season then we'll know for sure.

Yeah it really comes down to this offseason for Masai. If he stands pat we'll know he's holding out for Wiggins or whatever, if he resigns Demar we'll know he's dumb, beyond that who knows.

Holding out for Wiggins? Thats like what 4-5 years from now? And we don't even know if Wiggins will be good. You can't operate a franchise like that lol.

The NBA system as a whole is awful and the reason I don't watch NBA more. For like 20 teams all you can do is tank and pray that you get lucky drafting a couple superstars and then build around them and hope you can win a championship before they leave for FA.

I don't really follow basketball coverage but did anyone actually like the Ross signing? Is this just a case of not really having anywhere better to spend the money so you just spend it anyways?

No one liked when Ross was picked, no one still likes him. He's probably the 10th best player in this roster making big money now

People are justifying it by saying that this is the new normal in the NBA because of the salary cap rising.

 

It was a terrible signing. Ross is lazy and has shown zero signs of improvement since he joined the league.

Brian Collangelo! To be fair picks miss all the time like this. Steph Curry was taken 7th overall after PGs Tyreke, Rubio and Johnny Flynn. How bad do those picks look now?

The weird thing is why would Masai be keen to sign him? You would think that would just make it easier to see Ross for what he is.

BC f***ed us so hard by passing on Drummond. We could have had our superstar now and could have traded JV(remember the JV for harden deal?). Fuuuuuuuuuuuck

 

Ross was drafted because he was apparently "nba ready", but four years later he's still not ready!

Drafting for floor in the NBA seems like a really dumb thing to do.

I could see why someone would draft Ross with a high pick. He's a good shooter and has great athleticism. Unfortunately they vastly overestimated his desire to succeed.

If you have a championship contender and pick outside the top 10 its not a bad move. There are so many "high ceiling" picks that bust at the top of drafts. Having a rotational player on a rookie contract is still really valuable.

Harrison Barnes would of been a great pick if he fell 1 more spot. Although I don't think he would be close to the same player if Casey was his coach all along. NBA coaches make such a big difference.

He is a very passive player. If Ross drove more to the hoop and sought out contact like Demar did he'd be much more tolerable.
