Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 That moment when the basketball commentators know more about the Blue Jays than the Fox commentators.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Oh look, JV is the most efficient player on the court.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Oh look, JV is the most efficient player on the court. all his shots are basically from 0-5 feet so he should be lol

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I forgot how much I hated the sound of Jack Armstrongs voice. Seriously? I like him.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I forgot how much I hated the sound of Jack Armstrongs voice. What on Earth has made you hate Jack? I loved when him and Chuck Swirsky were together. Swirsky >>>>>>>>>> Devlin but everyone in Toronto wanted him out.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 f*** you're in the nba thread too You post more in this thread than baseball, not very becoming on a baseball forum?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 You post more in this thread than baseball, not very becoming on a baseball forum? Well I stopped caring too much about baseball for like a year because of Blue Jay terribleness. Now I'm back on the bandwagon!

Swervin81 Verified Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Sloppy as HELL, but we got it done. Fortunately, the Pacers decided to chuck long 2's and pull up 3's and our defense really stepped up whenever we turned the ball over (non-easy fast break turnover, that is). That DeMar shot at the end was horrendous shot selection when he had another man open and JV cutting to the inside, but oh well, it went in.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Lou Will misses the GWS tonight with 4 seconds left. Wolves win it for Flip.
Caper Verified Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 The thing that bothers me about the NBA is that so many teams just have no chance before the season starts, much more so then any other major sport in North America. The Raptors should be fun to watch, but really, they have almost no chance, maybe a conference final. There is probably a 95% chance the NBA champions will come from whoever the top 5 teams are in the NBA preseason. I just looked at NBA preseason rankings through the last 10 years and only the Mavericks at 6 fell out of the top 5 preseason rankings. I couldn't get years prior to 2005, but I'm sure that trend would follow right through to the 80's (whatever definitive power ranking existed back then). I thought the Pistons might be a team that didn't crack the top 5, but they did make the conference final the year before, so they were probably ranked 4th or 5th going into their championship season. So back to the Raptors.... They are not going to contend for a championship, they are not very young and don't really have that superstar you need to win a finals. The only way I see them having a chance in the next 5 or 6 years is if Bruno is somehow great. Other then that... they're at best, part of the other 25 teams clogging up the league for the top 5.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Can someone explain to me the rationale behind drafting guys like Caboclo and Nogueira? From my perspective it just seems like a huge Hail Mary, the basketball equivalent of signing that Belgian baseball player (Sam Buelens). Why would you invest a top pick in what's basically an experiment? Do NBA teams have a track record of success with these kind of guys?

The #20 pick isn't a top pick at all and Nogueira was part of a trape.

The NBA draft is so unpredictable after the first 5-10 picks or so usually its not really a big deal.
