eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Man... I don't know a whole lot about basketball stats or strategy. Do you think JJ should be starting? Starting him with Amir and JV likely causes serious spacing issues so I'd say no. I just want him to get Hansborough's minutes/cut into Amir's a little bit. He can play the f***ing 4 spot. Just give him a chance.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Blake Griffin out indefinitely with the same problem that knocked Alex Rios out in 2006: I'd never wish injury on any player... but I hate Blake Griffin. This is karma for his constant bitching/whining.

An Amir/Patterson/Johnson front court line up to finish off games would be awesome. Even a JV/Patterson/Johnson line up would work. If you have guys who set good screens and cut hard, you don't need multiple long distance shooters to run an effective offence. You could probably make an argument for James Johnson being our second or third best player, he's become that good..to bad he f***ed the coach's wife three years ago

Do you prefer DD at the 2 or the 3 spot long term?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Ah that's a huge hit in dynasty with Griffin out 4-6 weeks! Ugh!!!
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Some people will argue Phil Jackson and his 11 rings. Don't get me wrong Gregg Popovich has coached some great players. I mean he had Robinson and Duncan. But I don't think he had the superstars Phil had when he coached the Bulls and Lakers. Jordan and Pippen, Kobe and Shaq are the most dominating duo's in NBA history. Those Bulls teams were stacked. Lakers had the 2 most dominating players of an era. Pop has got it done with getting the most out of his player. Duncan will be a first ballot hall of famer. Parker and Manu were great players. But it was the Spurs depth, and Pop getting so much of his role players is what puts him over the top for me. Pop is better hands down. Thats why you don't use rings to evaluate players/coaches but rather their full body of work including who they are playing with etc...
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Ah that's a huge hit in dynasty with Griffin out 4-6 weeks! Ugh!!! Since you are now in full on tank mode, my offer of a draft pick for Kyle Lowry still stands.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Pop's system turns average players into extremely useful players. It's not like Tony Parker/Manu/Kawhi/Splitter/Mills etc. were all hyped or anything. His success rate on draft picks in the late 1st round/2nd round has been astonishing.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Tonight could be a telling game of the way this team uses JJ. He should get easily 25+ mins, if he does then maybe he was just nursing the hamstring and that's why he wasn't getting much PT. Leonard is going to be locking down the shooters all night, and if we don't utilize JJ to cut to the basket like the Clippers' game we'll be in a lot of trouble. He also shut down Blake Griffin, one of the most athletic players in the league, so he could take on Kawhi or the 4.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Anyone going down to the game tonight?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Anyone going down to the game tonight? Are you going to get back to me?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I'm not sure if I heard correctly, but it appears as if James Johnson is getting the start. Excellent decision.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I seriously might vomit if Hansborough plays again tonight. Zero offense and zero ability to rebound the basketball. Casey is so f***ing slow to make adjustments.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Lou again doing whatever the f*** he wants. JJ needs to be back on the floor ASAP
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I liked everything I saw tonight until the second unit came and and went into stupid 3 ball chucking mode. This team really needs a legit backup pg, not two fake pgs who can't run the offense in Vasquez and williams.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I liked everything I saw tonight until the second unit came and and went into stupid 3 ball chucking mode. Might as well just turn the channel when GV/Ross/Lou are on together.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Like WHERE IS JJ???? He's been off since the 2 minute mark of the 1st. PUT HIM ON THE f***ING FLOOR
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Lou is lost on defense. Bench Please.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 And it's not Ross I have the problem with, he's not trying to be something he's not
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I'm at a loss for words that JJ might be sitting the entire 2nd quarter. He was carving the Spurs up and was a force defensively. Casey is just trolling us.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Can Lou Williams be coached? I don't understand what they discuss during practice. How can someone just be allowed to freestyle as much as he does?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 ECJF, hope you have some fries to go with all that salt.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Lmfao they're just killing us. Might need to sit JV. No mobility out there.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Lmfao they're just killing us. Might need to sit JV. No mobility out there. Somehow I figure that everyone complaining about JV's lack of mobility will be complaining that he isn't strong enough if he loses weight to get quicker
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Somehow I figure that everyone complaining about JV's lack of mobility will be complaining that he isn't strong enough if he loses weight to get quicker Well most teams aren't the Spurs. It's just a bad matchup for him.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Well most teams aren't the Spurs. It's just a bad matchup for him. Was more of a general complaint. Fairly reasonable to not expect much out of JV this game.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 So JJ comes back in the game and they instantly have better ball movement/defensive pressure. Who saw that coming
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 They look like a completely different team with this lineup on the floor. Wow.
