Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I just saw it on Sportsnet while doing my homework!! Woohoo!!!!!! Great price too!!!!!
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Most relieved man on the face of the earth: Michael Grange. Least happy: Ric Bucher.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I think Vasquez takes a bit of a discount to come back. He loves it here and is like a 12 year old girl on twitter posting how much he loves this place. PP is a bit of a tougher one. I want him back but I wouldn't be willing to go higher than 3/15 ish... Especially with Bruno and Bebe now on board. Amir can still play 25+ MPG.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Haha......he called it all along. Grange has been in the business for a long time. He's not some twitter dork trying to be a superstar. He definitely upped his stock with this.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 So what cap room do we have to sign FAs at this point?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 So what cap room do we have to sign FAs at this point? We should be pretty close to the cap but we have a MLE that we can use (5M or so per year)... Someone correct me if I'm wrong. MLE: $5.15 million for non-taxpaying teams over the cap $3.09 million for taxpaying teams over the cap $2.575 million for teams with cap room
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Well this is good news. This team will only get better over time now barring any major injuries.

Ideally both are back but if one has to go, it must be GV.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Ujiri and Leiweke said they would re-sign Lowry and they did. These guys walk the walk. So far this offseason we've re-signed our star PG to a very reasonable deal, got rid of our worst player, acquired a former 6th man of the year candidate, and also got a huge upside former 1st round pick thrown in for good measure. That's an A+ offseason if I've ever seen one.

Bebe and Bruno will need to get at least some minutes and Amir is still pretty good. 5-6M a year? 100% yes. Anything more and you find someone else.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Bulls just amnestied Boozer which somewhat hurts PP's market.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Melo signing incoming? He'd be an idiot to go back to NY. Leaves some money on the table by leaving but that's a 25-30 win team next year.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Lowry's staying!!! Went to ESPN to check the baseball boxscores and there he was
43211234 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Nice. Reasonable contract considering the NBA has decided to go all NHL early in free agency. Since LeBron is a FA and Lance Stephenson might be on the move, can an argument be made for top team in the east next year?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 What he stayed? To play for the raptors? This is weird.

Even 6 is probably rich for my blood. Was hoping to get him on a 3/12 or 4/16 deal but with the way FA has gone, I'm very confident right now.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I don't follow basketball and know nothing about it. Is he good? Or wasn't last year a one hit wonder thing? Can you spell it for me in a baseball comparison?

Can you spell it for me in a baseball comparison? Top 5 PG, team leader, runs the offense, loves the city, was extremely clutch, the guy would completely take over the 4th quarter if necessary, whether he was having a bad game until that point or not. He's damn good, it's a great signing.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 http://s1373.photobucket.com/user/rspetko/media/CurrentRaptorRoster_zps433bd5a3.jpg.html So by the looks of our cap situation, we are still 13.6 million under the luxury tax. Which means we can easily afford to keep GV and Patt! If that actually comes to fruition I am going to be one happy camper
43211234 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 lol the video ESPN has up about Kyle Lowry re-signing is all about the Heat and what Pat Riley is going to do now. f*** off! Kyle Lowry is ours! Love it. #WeTheNorth I love the credentials they show for the analyst. "Author of 2 books on LeBron James"
43211234 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 The Atlantic Division will be easy to make. Knicks will be even worse, Boston might be slightly better but still bad, Philly likely near the bottom of the conference again. Brooklyn is the only real challenger as they might be a bit better based on how they played in the second half and Lopez being back. But everyone on the roster is a year older and won't having pop-spilling plays in their offence.
