eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Raps also pick up Psycho T's option. You could do a lot worse for a backup 4/energy guy.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 It's pretty comical when Raptor fans/ Beat reporters ( looking at you Doug Smith) believe that the Raptors shouldn't resist overpaying for Lowry. There's no such thing as overpaying for a top 5 player at the most important position in the game today. He's still criminally underrated
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 If Lowry isn't returning, Bledsoe should be the #1 option. It all comes down to tonight. This'll be interesting.

He's still criminally underrated I've heard quite a few people say they shouldn't overpay for him and instead trade for Rondo and extend him to the max. Lowry > Rondo all day everyday.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Is today the last day to negotiate an extension? Or does he become a FA after today?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Is today the last day to negotiate an extension? Or does he become a FA after today? I'm pretty sure we can't talk to him right now and the bidding begins at 12:01, at which point we will be meeting with him and we won't let him leave the room. FA targets: Lowry Blesoe Bosh Deng Parsons Granger VC Butler I wonder how Lance would fit in on this team. Idk. Let silly season begin!

I honestly wouldnt touch Lance with a 20 foot pole. Lance, referring to Lance Stephenson. The same Lance who pushed his GF down a flight of stairs and sent her to the hospital, calls out his teammates private matters in front of everyone and is just as likely to end up in Jail next year as making the all star team

Casey's the kind of hard ass coach that could hopefully help him. Not my #1 option, but if you have enough faith in the org to fix him, he won't be expensive and could pay off in dividends.

He's a clubhouse cancer, he causes trouble on and off the court. Would love Parsons, if trading Ross + is enough to get him then I'd be all for it. Deng is good too but I'm afraid he'll get too much money. VC as a bench piece if he's willing would also be highly welcomed.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Meh... Parsons' going to get 12 million a year and he isn't even a great defender. I'd rather roll with Ross.

Turner stepped in after Stephenson basically called out Hibbert for slumping after the affair between his wife and George went public. Stephenson refused to take any blame for the team's slump and told everyone that they should look at the people allowing their personal lives to effect their game. Keep in mind this wasn't done in a professional way, or quiet.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Signing Lowry is an absolute must. I don't want to sign anyone else. Sign Lowry and that's it. Organic growth FTW. We have so many young, high updside guys on the team now... Keep it together. C: JV, Bebe, Hayes PF: Amir, PP, Bruno, Psycho T SF/SG: DD, Ross, Williams, Fields, Novak PG: Lowry, Vasquez That's already 14 guys not including teh 2nd round picks. They clearly need to cut someone... Fields could actually be useful on the defensive end.... So it's gotta be Hayes or Novak. I just don't see any room for anyone else. Bruno more than likely doesn't come to the NBA this year or is in the D-League for a lot of the year though. Bebe looks like he's ready to contribute defensively so I hope he's up.

If we didn't send them Ross somehow, a Ross/Parsons/Derozan rotation would be sick for mixing up offense, defense and a balance.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Apparently Rondo is asking for 100M ish Just lol
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Chris Broussard: Sources: Cavaliers flying to NJ today to offer @Kyrie Irving max deal (5 yrs, $90 million) on July 1 Twitter @Chris_Broussard I think everyone saw this coming but LOL @ the Cavs. Kyrie is talented but he's such a ballhog. He doesn't make anyone around him better. That franchise just keeps getting gifted opportunities to become elite but never will be able to.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Just noticed Ed Davis became a UFA. There's no room for him here but hopefully he can land on a team that will actually allow him to play. Great rebounder, very efficient offensively and a heck of defender. He should be playing 30 minutes a night somewherfe

Guys like that need to be surrounded by winners so they can learn how to prepare properly.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Looks like Lowry staying in toronto is a done deal...
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Looks like Lowry staying in toronto is a done deal... Reading the report from Grange now. This is.... fantastic.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 From a Real GM poster: "Grange also said talks around the league was there wasn't a whole lot of interest in Lowry to begin with since most assumed he would re-sign with the Raptors." Maybe the deal is quite reasonable if true. My prediction: 4/44
Caper Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 There would be an extreme feeling of rejection if he signed somewhere else.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Sounds like negotiations are "starting at 12M".... So minimum 4/48?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I'm guessing between 4/48 and 4/56. this is wonderful.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 4/56 is more than fair for both sides. I stll dont understand how Miami would sign him even if he chose to go elsewhere
