Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Down by 16, no need to take timeouts.. let's finish this game.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Was at the game. First quarter was brutal but Lowry took over the game as usual. Orlando is so bad.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 both De Colo and Patterson wearing masks... Orlanda announcer figure Ujiri made out like a bandit in the De Colo deal. The Spurs are my favourite team and I watch about half of their games. De Colo had plenty of chances to win a spot over a pretty mediocre Cory Joseph and never really came close. Coach Pop gave him the freedom to be a playmaker when Ginobli was on the bench and still nothing. This trade should end up being inconsequential for both teams in my opinion. I was just happy to save some money to add a buyout guy like Granger and to get a cheap spot-up shooter with length who can replace Bonner going forward.
Caper Verified Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I think the Timberwolves should have tried to get Lowry at the deadline. I would have offered Rubio for Lowry and Landry Fields... and maybe a 1st round pick. Lowry could lead that team to the playoffs.

He ran around the court like a spaz today, want really sure what he was doing most of the time but he was only in a few minutes
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 This team needs another big (Hill or Kaman if either get bought out) and another wing player to backup DeRozan. Not a fan of John Salmons. Casey loves running plays through Salmons continuously as well which is terrifying.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 The only real challenge until mid-March is Golden State this coming Sunday. Would be nice to see them rattle off a bunch of wins here and reach 50 wins (winning 19/26 against weak competition is very possible). A number in the high 40s would still also be awesome. #3seedorbust
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 The Raps are both top 10 in OFF and DEF efficiency as of today and have a 3.7 net rating, good for 8th in the entire league. If only Casey had a clue what he was doing in crunch time
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Yep, Casey is a great assistant coach. I am pretty sure he has Nick Nurse running the offense at this point (was the best offensive coach in the DLeague). I wish Casey would stay on as an assistant after his contract expires. Bring in SVG plz
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 More s*** at the Knicks
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 NBC: Knicks point guard Raymond Felton was arrested late Monday night on three separate weapons charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman, according to multiple New York media outlets. Felton is expected to appear in court Tuesday morning. New York has some of the strictest gun possession laws in the nation. Police wanted to speak to Felton following the Knicks’ loss Monday night to the Mavericks and he turned himself in at the 20th Precinct Station on the West Side, according to the New York Post, which has a good accounting of the situation. New York Knicks star Raymond Felton was questioned by police Tuesday morning after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman, sources said. Police said Felton was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second, third and fourth-degrees… The woman involved was his girlfriend, sources said. Felton’s wife of less than two years filed for divorce recently. There are few other details of the case, including where it happened Felton is in the second year of a three-year, $10 million contract. His game has regressed this season, averaging 10.5 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds a game while shooting just 28 percent from three (all his lowest numbers in years), and with a below average PER of 12.6. The Knicks shopped Felton at the trade deadline but there were no takers.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 What a lack of judgement by Felton.. of course, it's almost criminal watching the Knicks this year. The rest of that team should be arrested for playing like garbage this season, when they were supposed to be a championship contender.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I can't think of a franchise in all of sports that is in worse overall shape than the Knicks.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 lol Hard to believe that we almost pulled off a Lowry for Felton + deal but Dolan nixed it. Gun chages, declining game, divorce proceedings. Sounds like a typical NBA player at the tail end of his career.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 What a lack of judgement by Felton.. That's putting it midly. Can you imagine how terrifying it must be to have your (presumably) angry boyfriend waive a gun in your face. Even if he didn't utter the words, I feel like that should be treated like a death threat and prosecuted accordingly.
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I've been thinking about the draft and am trying to get a sense of what we might do. If we resign Lowry then drafting a PG in the 1st isn't a great idea. I think Harrell on Louisville would be a great pick with his potential as the tough rebounder we need. Of course it would be great to get one of the Canadians, stauskas or ennis, but they might be off the board. Another guy I like is Adreian Payne on Mich St. He reminds me of PPat, but taller and more intense.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Payne is a nice idea. I'm hoping that Hood slips on some off chance, but Stauskas and McDermott are my guys atm.

I haven't seen much of McDermott, but for some reason I feel like he's the prototypical great in college, bad in NBA type of player. Stauskas would be awesome
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Raps up after 1 even with Lowry missing everything
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Being a UNC fan I was thrilled when we signed Hansbrough, but he has exceeded my expectations. He's just all hustle and you can tell how he affects other teams.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 21 3 pointers attempted so far lol, only 7 have gone in
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Double digit lead in the 2nd is completely gone now. Time to start playing again
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 McDermott = Kyle Singer I like Hood alot
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Turnovers all over the place. Lowry 0-8 from three. Not looking good
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Great win. DeRozan pretty much single handedly won that for us. Lowry didn't have his shot working but chipped in with great D and took some nice charges.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Really disappointed to see JV only get 17 minutes. He looked good on the glass early on too.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Nene is out so they should mop the floor with Washington on Thursday night. Sunday against Golden State will be a great test for them to see where they're really at.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Fact: Since trading Rudy, the Raps are 26-13, .667 WP%... 7th best in the league during that time. This team is playing like a contender.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Our Pythagorean record before tonight was 35-21, love the way the team is playing right now. Can't wait for playoffs!
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
