BoSox::

  • Jacoby Ellsbury's had 6 multi hit games in the past 9 games, recording a high .410 average. In the past month he's recorded .387 average.
  • Jose Iglasias's 0/4 night last night marked an end to a great 27 on base streak. He's hit .430 in the past 27 games.
  • Beating first-place Boston won't be easy, as their offence like this matchup. David Ortiz is 16/37 with two homers in his career against Wang, Pedroia's lifetime average against the Jays is .385, and Mike Napoli has 5 homes and 12 RBI against the Jays this year

 

Jays:

  • Edwin Encarnacion has been hot! Over the last 39 games he's hit .318 (50/157) with 13 doubles and 12 homers
  • Yesterday marked the first game of Jose Reyes back in the Jays SS position. Well, there's always the hope that Wang will get really deep in the game, last a long time, and get through the Boston lineup a few rounds.

GO JAYS GO! Just came back from Buffalo and saw a surprising number of Jays jerseys! Got me pumped for this series! Let's go for the sweep to be only 2 games back!

Against Lester and give him a Day to rest the days of Cal Ripken are over. Actually I bet Cal would of put up better stats if he was given some GD days off.

He looked REALLY ugly against the last lefty he faced in TB (name escapes me and I don't care enough to look it up.) I'm fine with a day off, and I'm sure he'll be available to pinch hit when the Jays knock Lester out after 2 1/3 innings ;)

No lind is 1 for his last 18, and he does not hit lester well, perfect time to sit him.

In Boston I'd be happy if we just split this series, winning 3 would be awesome.

 

I cannot fathom how anyone could be happy with a split, we need to make up ground. Won't be the end of the world but happy? Hells no.
