Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Wow, this GordieDougie character is even more insufferable than fatcow during his quest to reach 10000 posts in one week. How anyone can get angry over Munenori Kawasaki being called a fringe player is just retarded. That being said, he is an awesome fringe player and why Bonifacio gets to stay over him blows my mind. Let's keep the guy that can't play defense, can't hit, has no power, is an idiot, and has a stupid f***ing grin and his loviste ********. I honestly hate that the Jays have adopted that ******** from this grinning dumb f***. Loviste what? Look at your batting average at the Mendoza line? Your ugly ass swing? Your iron glove? f*** me.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 The team is 0.500 76 games into the season. They need wins. Options on Boni and DeRosa are irrelevant at this point because Kawasaki is the better player. The difference isn't insignificant either. Kawasaki has been much more than a full win better than both Izturis and Bonifacio.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Bit disappointing Dont understand why we couldn't just DFA Mcgowan. No one would pick him up anyways, let him go pitch in Buffalo McGowan could opt for free agency and the Jays would be on the hook for his salary. Also, lots of GMs would take a chance on that arm with the salary remaining on it.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Well sorry that I only glanced over minor league stats, but do you have to be so angry about it? Good job being so adamant about it, dipshit. Maybe next time you're not sure, try acting like it.
Hawkguy Verified Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 The difference isn't insignificant either. Kawasaki has been much more than a full win better than both Izturis and Bonifacio. Izturis is at like a -1.0 WAR (edit I guess he's -0.2 now), Kawasaki at a 0.8 WAR. 2 wins would mean nothing if we're running away from the division, but 2 wins could mean the difference between going home and the wild card, or a division title and no wildcard.

I mean I heard that joke 100 times, maybe try to come up with something yuorself without popping a blood vessel mental midget? All you do is jump in threads act like a 2 year old looking for laughs. IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 According to Wilner, it's Muni, which is so f***ing retarded. f*** AA. It was the right move. I thought Anthopoulos would have bent to the fans' wishes but I should have known better cuz his main focus is to make the team better. Keeping Kawasaki would have been an emotional, rather than a business, decision - just not what he is about right now.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 No it isn't, dumbass. Why the name calling? He stated his opinion as you did yours.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 lmfao could he be any more awesome?
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 He filled in all right. He might be back at a later time. He did much better than than anyone anticipated however he, from my perspective, is still a light-hitting, weak-armed, IFer who can be sent down without costing the team any assets. The only other viable option was to send Wagner down (looking at it from an asset management perspective) however the BP is currently very strong and that may play an even more important part going forward since the Jays are still not certain what this rotation can do.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Did anyone post this yet from Tim and Sid? My apologies if yes. lol http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/the-tim-sids-tribute-to-kawasaki Good stuff

To me the move was to DL Cabrera, but I read where Gibbons said he's healthy, but hung him out to dry by saying there are balls hit to LF that have to be caught, so I'm confused, if he's fine, then will he DH from now on or be benched in favor of Davis?
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 HE'S AN ABOVE AVERAGE SHORTSTOP BY SOME MEANS. HE'S BETTER THAN MAICER IZTURIS AND EMILIO BONIFACIO. COMBINED. HE IS A QUALITY BENCH PLAYER, BUT NO, LET'S GO FOR AN 530925-MAN BULLPEN YOU f***ING RETARD AA. f*** this. You sure got your panties in a knot over this - Try to enjoy some, hopefully, entertaining baseball rather than trying to come across as if you have a crystal ball. Kawasaki and his energetic, playful persona will be missed by a lot of fans however winning ways will overcome that issue soon enough.

I wish I had some insight into Cabrera's true situation cuz on the surface he looks like a wretched old man went it is time to run. I believe his situation is detrimental to winning especially if he is injured and is allowed to stay on the field. I do not believe a few days of DHing will give his hamstring time to recover so I am at a loss why this situation still exists. Has the media or any of the experts asked Gibbons/Anthopoulos to respond to such a question or are they only allowed to ask non-antagonistic, irrelevant questions?
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Kawasaki is a better baseball player than Bonifacio and DeRosa. Kawasaki has been a really nice surprise to say the least while the performances of both Bonifacio and Izturis have been disappointing. Just as the performances of the starting rotation have been bad to start off the season, I believe those two will most probably improve in their respective roles. Kawasaki filled in admirably and his performance was noticed by a lot of people. He will get another chance at this level later in the year - If not with this club then with another. It was most probably a tough decision moreso cuz he was very likeable, showed sound work ethics, and played well however in the best interest of the organization he had to be sent down.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 The TV broad cast shows a quite from Gibby "Mark my words, he'll be back" How specific and why was this said so explicitly? Huh, interesting. That's rather definite. Wow, this GordieDougie character is even more insufferable than fatcow during his quest to reach 10000 posts in one week. Man, I don't care, I like the guy and it's fun to go all-caps mode. I wasn't particularly angry, it was fun. Meh, oh well, it's over and done with. Agree on the Bonifacio part, but seriously, I will pay you to change your avatar. honestly. It was the right move. I thought Anthopoulos would have bent to the fans' wishes but I should have known better cuz his main focus is to make the team better. Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Where we differ is that I don't see any value at all in Boni. He's 28, so there's no reason to believe there's any upside. What we have in him IMO is an awful hitter who doesn't get on base enough to use his speed, and who's positional flexibility is rendered worthless by the fact that he's below-average everywhere on the diamond. He's put up 0.8 fWAR per 150 games in his career, and is now passed typical peak age. I don't think he has trade value, not do I think he should be tendered a contract in the offseason. We keep him, sure, but why? Because: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EMwtQkZhWCQ/UWykpYxb6VI/AAAAAAAAF8g/EPPqI0JtaSw/s1600/Kawasaki+Loviste.jpg
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Where we differ is that I don't see any value at all in Boni... We keep him, sure, but why? From my perspective he will be on the bench most of the time which means he can PR and that in itself can become a game changer. Even if you want to say Kawasaki can provide better IF defence from what I think, haven't checked it out cuz I am a tad lazy now, he cannot play the OF (not with that arm anyway) which means Bonifacio becomes more versatile. So yes, we do have different views on their value going forward.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 Goins Goins isn't better than Kawa, is he?
KSaw Verified Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I think goins could probably be a pretty could bench player for us Not this year but soon.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Its about having complementary pieces. Boni has played 95 s***** innings in the OF this year, so that really isn't an asset - Davis gets those innings as well as the pinch running assignments. If he gets hurt, Gose will get them. Kawasaki, on the other hand, is the only player on the 40-man, aside from Reyes, who can defend short. He's probably also the best 2B defender on the the 40-man. And he's carrying what looks like a sustainable 0.300 wOBA on a 0.254 BABIP, so he's not a worse hitter than Boni. If he gets hurt, but not seriously enough to be on the DL, the option of bring Gose up is not feasible in my mind. However if you want to use a DL injury to eliminate Bonifacio's usefulness then the same can be said of Kawasaki in case of an IF injury - just call him back up. Since we will not agree on who will be the best bench player (Bonifacio vs Kawasaki) let's lay this one to rest cuz neither one of us will change the other's mind.
