o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Its about having complementary pieces. Boni has played 95 s***** innings in the OF this year, so that really isn't an asset - Davis gets those innings as well as the pinch running assignments. If he gets hurt, Gose will get them. Kawasaki, on the other hand, is the only player on the 40-man, aside from Reyes, who can defend short. He's probably also the best 2B defender on the the 40-man. And he's carrying what looks like a sustainable 0.300 wOBA on a 0.254 BABIP, so he's not a worse hitter than Boni. Boni is really bad at lots of things. Kawasaki is a better defender on any IF position for sure. Boni brings nothing that cant be replaced by other player other than his retarded smirk. I'd like to know what he thinks is so funny, is it his 205 avg, his 245 OBP? his concrete hands on double plays?? I dont find any of it amusing. so Kawasaki not only beats Boni on all baseball aspects, he's also a much better mascot.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 They should have DH'd Melky and throw E5 at 3B, Lind at 1B. At the very least, sub Melky after the 6th with Davis.
