dickey is set to go on one of his unhittable runs

Maybe, but the Jays need all of their rotation pitching well in order to make any noise in the fall. Forgive my pessimism, but despite wang and Rogers pitching well over their first few starts expecting them to be even average starters is a stretch. Buerhle is #5 at best and Johnson is inconsistant from 1 start to the next. The rotation is a mess right now and I don't think AA has a legit chance to fix it for a run this year

23% with a plus hit tool plays in the majors. And you don't need a 10% walk rate if you can hit .275 with 20/20, although Jake seems to settle in around 8% after adjusting to a level.

it's right around that concern point...with a guy like Marisnick I think you can chalk it up partially to returning from the injury though. He's never been over 20% at any point and he was 28.9% in May. So far in 100 June PA's he's only struck out 14 times while walking 7. I've always been a big Marisnick guy though.

I hate to rekindle the old debate, especially one that looked all but settled last year, but has Marisnick taken the lead on Gose?

I never thought it was settled. I'd say that I still like HJM's ability to hit lefties and righties equally. Gose will require a platoon IMO or take his bad AB's against lefties. I wonder if the new debate should be HJM vs. Yelich. Honestly I still might give HJM the nod. If I'm Miami I'm getting Profar and one of the young pitchers for Stanton and go with HJM in CF, Ozuna in RF and Yelich in LF, with Ruggiano on the bench next season.

Gose has been such a big disappointment for me this year. Repeating a level for the first time, I thought his hit tool would really shine. Marisnick, it's crazy that you can compare him to Yelich and it isn't invalid. I'd still take Yelich, but HJM has been quite the riser. If the D is legit Miami has quite the prospect on their hands.

After all HJM is better player than Gose.

Right now the Gose ceiling is 2-2.5 WAR (José tabata?).

TdA had a setback again.

I wonder if something showed up in D'arnauds physical... or maybe the mets just had (legitamite) injury concern. The trade looks much more forgivable if there were serious concerns about D'arnaud.

Why would you or the Jays want TDA to be hurt? The trade is done. Would you feel better if Noah Syndergaard blew is arm out and never pitched again? It is of maximum benefit for the Blue Jays if TDA, Noah and John Buck all play exceptional for the Mets.

If that is the case then they shouldn't have traded TDA.

I don't want TDA to be hurt. Don't get me wrong. It just seemed a high price to pay. Just curious whether the initial talks just involved TDa and then an injury flag happened and the mets asked for more.

Maybe not. Jays could of pulled TDa back and offerred another package. But it's the art of trading. Complicated scenarios arise. If you go to buy a sack of potatoes, and they look lke they are to ripe and might go rotten in a week... you'll ask for a fresher sack of potatoes... but maybe as you negotiate the price you find a way to get the original potatoes too. Maybe they'll be OK.

Jays gave up too early on those prospects they dealt away for Happ.

At the time, the astros and jays said they made the move for spare parts,

jays' minor league depth. Gave up way too early for a guy, happ, they over valued.

under valued their own spare parts.

This is all because of the idiotic "super-scout" mentality.

AA and his super-scouts mistakenly think they can value every player properly... so give up 5 low level c prospects... no problem none of them will be anything.

The problem is the superscouts will indeed predict the AVERAGE value of the prospects very well but there will be an outlier that will burn us. 5 c prospects are worth more then J.A. happ because chances are 1 will become atleast happ, and perhaps really surprise ... even though all 5 are "predicted" to be cups of coffee at the most.... there will be outliers.

MLBTR:

While he was once thought to be on the Matt Harvey/Zack Wheeler summer promotion track, top prospect Noah Syndergaard now might not even be called up in 2014 at all, manager Terry Collins told reporters yesterday (including Mike Puma of the New York Post). One club source told Puma that team officials have struggled to get a read on Syndergaard, and some feel he would benefit from a full year at Triple-A. Andy Martino of the New York Daily News wrote earlier today that a club official recently told him Syndergaard is “not even on our radar” at this point.

..............and Sanchez will reach the MLB first.

Noah has been so hittable of late. Pretty much since I was in Vegas. Maybe I'm the new ECJF jinx...when I go and see top 100 prospects live they stop hitting. Gary Sanchez last year went on a bad string after I saw him in Erie. Lindor the year before. They probably just missed seeing my smiling face behind home plate.

Holy s*** Synd has been terrible.

Wasn't there some injury issue? I thought I read a month or two back he might need TJS?
