Hawkguy Verified Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Hi, I'm reductio ad absurdum poking holes in your argument. Sorry, I didn't think I had to explain myself further. Obviously I'd trade him for an overpayment. I'd trade any player in the league for an overpayment. I'd trade any NHL player for an overpayment (even Norris winner PK Subban). However, the reality is, we wouldn't get an overpayment most likely. Hell, we probably wouldn't even get close to fair value for his current production. But Lind is a Mottola guy - he's not going to faulter any time soon. Murphy ruined him, Mottola remolded him. No reason to trade him. None at all. I'd move Bautista before Lind without thinking twice. Hey, my name is 'he was joking,' nice to meet you. Hi, I know he was joking. Nice hat though!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Trading Lind would be one of the dumbest moves this team has ever made You didn't qualify that at all. I LOVE Lind, probably more than is natural, but even I would move him for the right return.
Hawkguy Verified Member Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 You didn't qualify that at all. I LOVE Lind, probably more than is natural, but even I would move him for the right return. Like I said above, I'd move him for the right return too. An overpayment. I was basing my post on reality that we probably wouldn't get good value. Maybe decent value at best. When should Lind qualify? I heard Monday.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 If you go AL only he's #2 in AVG, #4 in OBP, #5 in SLG, and #4 in OPS
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 This list reminds me - how nice would Joe Mauer look at catcher? Equally handsome. Better catching and OBP skills.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 This reminds me - how nice would Joe Mauer look at catcher? He certainly would have lovely hair...

flafson Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 We will probably need to trade half the team to get Mauer...
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 The club is .500 and on the move. Lind is a key piece and has several team friendly options. He's not going anywhere this year! Bump
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Bump Because he still leads the team in AVG & OBP and is second in SLG and OPS?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Because he still leads the team in AVG & OBP and is second in SLG and OPS? Not for long bro, he's back to his old habits
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Not for long bro, he's back to his old habits Based on your keen observation skills? He'll be easily top 3-5 in those categories by the end of the year too...
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Based on your keen observation skills? He'll be easily top 3-5 in those categories by the end of the year too... he's not as patient and missing instead of fouling off good pitches remember 2011.... same s*** about to happen
KSaw Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Too soon to throw him under the bus. Pitchers adjusted and are throwing him more strikes. Lind in seeing more of them is probably focusing too much on trying to drive a strike with power. That's natural. Perhaps we've seen Lind tank so often that a little slump has people hitting the panic button?
TheEndIsNigh Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Based on your keen observation skills? He'll be easily top 3-5 in those categories by the end of the year too... LOL, no he won't.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 he's not as patient and missing instead of fouling off good pitches remember 2011.... same s*** about to happen Agree he's s*** now, nobody knows when he'll turn it around. God himself does not know. Could be 3 years from now.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Lind bought out? Re-signed? Option purchased? He doesn't make it easy...
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 LOL, no he won't. Wanna bet that Lind isn't top 5 on the team in AVG, OBP, SLG and OPS by the end of the year? Because you'll lose that bet pretty handily.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Wanna bet that Lind isn't top 5 on the team in AVG, OBP, SLG and OPS by the end of the year? Because you'll lose that bet pretty handily. It's a dogfight Lind currently behind EE, Bats, Reyes, and Rasmus in all categories. Davis ahead in AVG. Lawrie gaining in SLG. "Because you'll lose that bet pretty handily" Lind sucks balls
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Looks like he's going to finish below a .800 OPS.. At the end of the day.. another average year. The options aren't that expensive... Indifferent to if they're picked up or not. He should not be pencilled in anywhere higher than 6th in the lineup next year though.

Is this how low standards have gotten here? Top 5 on this team in average and .obp is not much of an accomplishment. Also, right now it's hardly handily, look at the stats.

Lind is showing that he isn't a player every day but platoon guy. His approach is different but still a streaky hitter. The other side of the coin is Rasmus. It's time to extend his contract, He's a stud

Caper Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I google Adam Lind's name once in a while.... to get to his baseball reference page. Apparently there is a reality TV star by the same same.... has made for some confusing searches.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Adam Lind last 30 days .191/.265/.337 (17/89), 2 dingers and 7 Rebeyes
Arkadium Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Lind may just retake his title of whipping boy by end of the year... though don't know how anyone can even compete with JPA for that title
