I wanted to ask you guys what you think it would take to make a trade for Profar at the deadline this year.

Is texas even interested in trading him?

What about Bautista + Johnson (if he is pitching well) + Arencibia for Profar?

Would it take more?

Thoughts please

"We'll give you Bautista, JJ, and JPA for Profar. Deal?"

"I'm sorry we can't do that deal. No way. We'll do Bautista and JJ for Profar."

Lol, not a chance man. Profar is like the #2 prospect in all of baseball.

It would take at least Bautista + Johnson. I included Arencibia because Texas has been going through alot of catchers these past few years, it seems like they would like a young catcher. Maybe JP doesn't hold any value though.

Bautista is the top homerun hitter in baseball the last 3 years. It would take at least Profar + just to get Bautista, let alone him and Johnson.

Probably Bautista, but I don't think there's any chance of it happening.

More likely we trade for Kinsler.

I'm calling a Chase Utley trade. 100% that's going to happen... he's a typical deadline target, Phillies get rid of an aging 2B who's in his FA year for prospects

As discussed in the other Profar for Bautista thread  the two of them straight up is probably a very fair deal (a little too fair actually for the Jays liking considering they are getting the more unknown quantity), it wouldn't happen from the Jays side because of appearances, it wouldn't happen from the Rangers side unless they already had a deal in place involving Cruz for a pitcher.

It would make the Jays younger, but it wouldn't make the Jays necessarily better. We'd have to play Profar at 2B and would have a much weaker offensive OF.

There would have to be an extension in place for Utley. Even AA isn't stupid enough to trade the farm for a rental to help a team that is 10+ games under .500.

Aramis is more likely IMO, since Utley would probably want to test the market.

Aramis doesn't like baseball and loves the cockfights but he likes the last place teams.

Oh, you seem to still have faith in AA under pressure lol. I fully expect an Osuna for Utley w/o extension trade. Something like the stupid Beltran-for-Wheeler trade but involving less-caliber players

f***ing smart

The ineptitude of our GM makes us look like troll when us talk about trades.

Ideal

Janssen + Boni for Wong++

AA

Sanchez+ Gose for Utley

________________________

Ideal

Buehrle for Ronny Rodriguez/Dorsy Paulino and JJ for Joc Pederson

AA

Buehrle + Sanchez for Marco Estrada + Betancourt

JJ for Juan Uribe

lol. He's one of the very best hitters in baseball, so I don't care about that stuff. Would be a great addition and should only take one good prospect and another middling one or two.

Aramis + Lucroy for JPA + Osuna + Stilson + Lopes +

Bautista holds great value, but some here seem to think otherwise. Bautista is now a proven HR hitter with a high OBP to go with it and can play a serviceable right field. Texas would definitely consider a Bautista for Profar straight up.
Posted
I'd do in a heartbeat. Throw in another decent prospect too.

AA version

Aramis + Axford + Henderson + Taylor Green for Sanchez + Osuna + Stroman + Stilson + Lopes + Janssen + Delabar + Oliver

Henderson >>>>>>>Delabar > Axford

There'd have to be A LOT more in that trade. Pitching and position prospects would have to go in a deal like that as well.. we're not dumping Bautista for just Profar. Also, Texas won't be trading Profar anytime soon.

The same was being said about the Padres and Roberto Alomar.

I seriously doubt the Cardinals would trade Wong for a reliever, especially since they don't need one.

Colby Rasmus for Ejax, Dotel, Rzepgyusascdj

I would be surprised if they wouldn't do Profar for Bautista straight up.

3 more years of elite production at a price friendly $14 million per year. I feel some people in this thread are underestimating Bautista's value. Profar may currently be the best prospect in baseball, but Bautista is a proven commodity who should provide atl east two more years of great value.

Rasmus was traded because of his personality and refusal for help. Not really comparable. Most likely scenario Wong cracks the team next year out of spring training, in a role similar to that of Adams this year. Only much more playing time since Carpenter is extremely versatile.

-

Ideally though he would be trade bait since Carpenter is a top 5 second baseman in baseball, but they don't really have any holes. The weakest player on the team is Kozma and he could easily rack up a 2.5 WAR this year.

Just gauging what you guys think a prospect like Profar is worth. Im gonna put together a thread for my idea of a COMPLETE overhaul of the team.

there will be no pleasing most Jays fans. if AA makes a move, it will most likely involve a player(s) that the fans have meaningless attachment too and if he doesn't make a trade they will hate him for not doing it.

I think AA needs to trade some age to move forward(not for this years results). unless Rogers is going late 90s early 2000s Yankees nuts with money, the jays need to unload some wage and age at the deadline. that will mean some big names other than just JJ being dealt and JJ might not even be trade-able if he doesn't get healthy and put up some numbers soon.
