GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/lawrie-apologizes-to-teammates-will-start-monday/ For those that didn't know, Lawrie injured his leg on a slide that looked rather painful, and the official update is 'day to day.' Let's hope that isn't Blue Jays talk for 'career over.'
baseballsss Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Edwin at 3rd. Gose to LF. Melky DH. jose to third

Short bench again for a few games.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 People seem to forget just how f***ing horrible Edwin was at 3B. Bautista is the clear option for a full time fill-in, but I dont know if Gibby will risk getting him injured again.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 f*** no I was trying to find that pic of the baby elephant with the terrified look on his face.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 or even if it's going to be 2-3 games no hurt in playing derosa. that would atleast get him some at bats.
oakville69 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 jose to third Last time that happened, he hurt his back & was out for several games. I think it's Derosa at 3B for now. I think Izturis can also play 3B.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Can Negrych play 3B? I don't think he has the arm... from what I hear.... I was thinking the same thing.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 lol, Edwin at third was stupid even 3 years ago...
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Can Negrych play 3B? There are enough 40 man roster issues without opening THAT can of worms...
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Lawrie is so injury prone. He runs like a cement head out of control. We better get used to the idea of him being on the DL on a regular basis. Too bad the guy has no brain, he has so much talent.

Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Day to Day? So September? Nah... ER, critical condition... Lawrie might not make it is what it means
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Can Negrych play 3B? DeRosa for 3B
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Again, the lack of fundamental skills shining through for the Jays. Can't properly slide. Zero understanding of situational baseball. Also throw in that inexplicable slow-down at 2nd base yesterday when Bonifacio doubled down the RF line (he could've possibly scored). This is a blessing in disguise. His glove will be missed, but it'll be refreshing to see someone with their head in the game actually playing.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 The Mariners just sent Ackley down. Could Lawrie be next? I honestly wouldn't mind it. He's needs a reality check. Over his last 500 PA .254/.311/.411 Aw jeez

Over his last 500 PA .254/.311/.411 Aw jeez Poor plate discipline Poor self control Unrefined swing Very little extra base power Yeah he's just not getting it done at the plate. His defense is the only reason he's an acceptable MLB player right now.
