GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 GordieDougie, high85, same thing. You still managed to get his name wrong for a second time, which is pretty remarkable when you consider how well known McCown is. So because I spelled a guy who's name I don't give a crap about, I'm trolling. Sigh.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 58/2 wOBA back down to 0.303. On pace for 6BB and 195K.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 lol, is such a thing even possible? What a nightmare. If he actually does manage that (6BB:195K) that would make him the first major leaguer to K more than 100 times and not have at least 10 walks in a single season. Given how highly he thinks of himself despite the fact that he is truly terrible, he might actually do it.
over500 Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Ivan Rodriguez had 9/96 ratio several years ago. This clown is easily gonna beat this.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I don't want to find out. I sure do, I wanna see the likely error in judgement management makes in what to do with such horrid futility.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Yeah, he currently has the worst K/BB of all-time. The worst part - would management even care? I want to believe they care but they seem to actually believe in JPA. I don't get it. Other than his isolated power at the plate, he is completely worthless. Well I guess the only difference between JPA and a guy like Posey is two world series rings. Maybe a JPA extension is on the horizon?
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 which is pretty remarkable when you consider how well known McCown is. If I hadn't been reading through this thread and understood the context, I can't say I'd know who this guy even is.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 JPA probably demands 10yr 300m And probably gets it too
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Why should Arencibia change anything about his game when: the GM called him last offseason to assure him he wasn't going to be traded; the top catching prospect in the system is traded thus reassuring him that he's the man behind the plate; he hits cleanup or 5th in the lineup despite his horrible k/bb ratio?
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Posey got 9/167, so JPA will start negotiations at 9/150. His team hasn't allowed him to make the playoffs yet, so he doesn't quite deserve Posey money. But his good looks might set the bar a little higher. Posey's a looker himself, but AA sees beauty in JPA that no one else can see.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 wOBA back down to 0.299. OBP to a shocking 0.237. I remember Vernon Wells' 2011 OBP and I thought no one could get any worse, since they would've been benched a long time ago. Lol
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Gibbons is just doing what AA and beeston want IMO.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 “No one cares about strikeouts other than people that aren’t in the game,” he said, defiantly. “People who understand baseball understand that strikeouts, for myself, really don’t mean as much.” “For me, I’ll strike out however many times if at the end of the year you’re sitting there with 30 home runs and 100 RBIs.” “This is what people don’t understand and this is what baseball people understand: what I’ve done in the major leagues, in the AL East, to catch every day, you don’t just roll over and find it,” Arencibia said. “I’m not saying I’m somebody out of this world, but what I’m saying is I’ve done it for a couple years. The minor leagues mean nothing. People forget that in the minor leagues I played a four-month season — I hit 32 home runs and I won the MVP in four months.”
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Boxy seems to have his wires crossed, it's normal for an elitest, lol. He's obviously very level headed, I don't know why this offended him.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I've never wished so much ill-will on a blue jays player.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I've apologized to him. Ah, just saw that. Sorry. WHAT THE f***ING s*** ARENCIBIA YOU f***ING IDIOT YOU KNOW NOTHING No caps ruins the moment, Gordie just lowercase an I:) I'm too raged to think sensibly.
Tuco Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 WHAT THE f***ING s*** ARENCIBIA YOU f***ING IDIOT YOU KNOW NOTHING no caps Of course JP is going to say something like this seeing its basically a extension of what our front office believes in. They employed a hitting coach that flat out said OBP is useless.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 He doesn't want to clog up the bases and he is the "BIG RIBEYE" guy on the team. It's sad that this is probably legitimately true. I really f***ing hate the guy.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 JPA is the only Jays player I've actually wished poor performance on. Its as much his fault as it is management's. More management for instilling this thought process. JP needs to be pushed and earn his playing time, he has not. The FO thinks he is the catcher of the future.
mitchf Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 You can't even analyze JP anymore. He's a troll and there's no reason to think otherwise.
