It must be a conspiracy. All these guys are out to get Cito for no reason. Or maybe because Bob McCowan paid them to.

I'm telling you man, it's an inside job. It's all Wilner's fault!

Go piss up a tree, how the F is that proof ??

Are you F----ing kidding me ???

Reading a book is PROOF ???

LOL Go take a book to court, point out a quote

that the author says is true, and tell me how

that turns out for you.

Jeebus Creebus !! Some people !!!

Okay, I could take issue with the fact that you're comparing a baseball forum to a court. I could take issue with your random accusations. But god damnit, I AM THE ONLY ONE AROUND HERE WHO WILL USE THE WORD JEEBUS. YOU WILL NOT RIP ME OFF, DAMNIT.

If this was a court case I would dig up the 1990s Cito interviews especially around 96 and I know several times on the pregame show he talked about Olerud pulling the ball. I remember two cases in particular. One of them I believe was after a June 1st game (I didn't remember the exact date but think I

found the game on bbref) So if you can find the sun or star from June 2nd 1996 you might be able to find the quotes.

But you know what?? Newspaper articles from the 1990s don't seem to be on the net. So to settle this someone will have to do some research. If I can get access to these old newspapers I'll get you some quotes.

Ok, I'll see what i can find also.

When a person doesn't like someone, they usually don't say positive

things about them.

But think about it,did you hear anyone from the 89-93 teams say

anything damaging about cito? Did, molitor, alomar, winfield, henderson,

borders witt, henke,ward...if not, then WHY NOT ??

Whatever cito was telling the players in those years, must have worked,

and those players were OK with it.

Um most of those players were solid veterans or had already established their game???? What was Cito supposed to do, tell HOF'ers to change their f***ing game? Are you f***ing serious.....some moron gifted a phenomenal team, telling those players something different after 15-20 years of play. Cito not saying anything was the best thing he could've done.

Maybe green was butthurt at not being allowed a regular spot

on the WS winning team?

Green did very well under cito's tutelage, and as green got

older he got better,it had nothing to to with flourishing without

cito.

Usually when someone does something positive or good for them, they don't slag them after the fact.

I heard carter wore cito's number after cito got fired to protest,

but then carter is black, it stands to reason why he'd back cito,

unlike the 2 white boys, or so i'm told.

Joe Carter......the Paul Henderson of baseball.

Ken, the bats are coming around, it was just a matter of time. As the OBP goes up, this team will start scoring the way most expected.

You type exactly like him/her it, and defend Cito in similar ways, was just a hunch. Sorry if I offended you.

The issues are related. If we are using Murphy's "pull the ball" it's related to the handling of the Cito situation(s) for a number of reasons.

1. The pull the ball stuff came from Cito originally.

2. The organization has never really fired Cito. Cito never left. Since 99 he's always been around as hitting coach, consultant, manager then consultant again. He is listed 7th on the baseball operations org chart.

3. Like Cito Murphy hasn't left the building. He's still there as 1st base coach.

So you wanted to discuss if Murphy still has influence, it seems to me that question is related to how much influence Cito has.

I guess we have to assume both have influence. Cito is listed 7th on the baseball org chart (ahead of the information analasyst Joe Sheehan) and Murphy is the 1st base coach assistant hitting coach. We have to assume they do have influence and AA wants them to have influence. Otherwise why give them these positions?? So us dumb fans can think that the jays don't throw nice men out on the street??

The alternative is that they aren't suppose to have influence and Beeston/AA put them in those positions just to make them feel better. Which is even worse. And if that's the case I suspect they will be piping up whenever they can anyway.

JP Arencibia, Emilio Bonifacio and Mark DeRosa seeing consistent playing time is the reason our OBP is low, not because of the hitting coach. No hitting coach in the world can get those guys to put up good OBPs.

JPA's OBP is .246 and he accounts for 9.8% of the team's PA. You'd need a .394 OBP player to cancel out JP and get the team to a neutral .320 OBP. Maicer Izturis is getting better, but he's never been a walker. His OBP is .246 and accounts for 8.3% of the team's PA. Bonifacio's is .217 over 6.4% of the team's PA. Et cetera.

Bautista, Edwin, Lind and Lawrie seem to know what's going on and will take their walks. But they can't carry a whole team, our OBP will always be low as long as the above players are playing.

Emilio Bonifacio hit .290 walked 59 times and had a .360 on base average in 2011. So who-ever the Marlins hitting coach was that year managed to do it.

I strongly disagree here. Arencibias lifetime on base percentage is a reflection of Dwayne Murphy's work. Nobody else has ever tried with Arencibia. Emilo's lifetime on base is .329 away from the Jays. Derosa's is .340.

If Emilio and Derosa could hit there lifetime on base percentage that would be OK. J.P.s lifetime oba is a reflection of Murphy's work anyway.
