Smoral's last 4 outings: 16IP, 4ER, 5BB, 23K

I don't know who I'm happier for, the Jays or my fantasy team. I'll say the Jays for now.:P

Why move him then?

I drafted him cause I had a good feeling he was coming around and would be good eventually, but I was considering exchanging eventually for soon.;)

Some setbacks for the system this year with Robson and Cardona's injuries, Labourt and Tirado's demotion, Davis's struggles, Nay's powerlessness, among others.

However, there are some positives that balance things out like obviously Norris and Pompey advancing to AA, but also guys like Burns coming out of his early season slump and lower levels guys like Barreto, Urena, Smoral, Castro, Jansen, Lietz, Smith, plus a few others I may be forgetting.

You add guys like Pentecost, Hoffman, Reid-Foley and a couple of the other draftees and you have a decent farm again going into 2015. Not to mention guys like Osuna and Hollon coming back from injury and the system isn't nearly in as bad a shape as the doom and gloomers would want you to believe.

Is his mom single?

I dunno, maybe ask the guy who appears to be his dad on the far left.

Lol. The brother and the father have the same face. Obvious family photo is really, really obvious.

See, that's the joke right there. Funny, right?

Funny that Stroman was at 9. Looking back on it he would be in the top 5. Dont get why the blue jays thought he would slide to 22 when the industry mocked him in the top 15

Imagine having Stroman and this guy instead of DJ Davis. :(

Old BP report:

Matt Smoral, LHP Blue Jays (GCL Blue Jays)

The 6'8" Smoral is one of the most intriguing and favorite arms I saw all season. His fastball sits easily in the 91-94 range while hitting 95 at times. While that is very solid coming from the left side, it's his slider that sucks me in. It's already a plus pitch sitting at 82-85 with tilt and a sharp bite that is effective to both righties and lefties alike. When he's commanding the fastball the slider is a devastating swing-and-miss pitch that he can throw in any count. However, command has haunted Smoral most of the season. With him coming off of foot surgery, the Blue Jays took it slow with him and he admits that the long layoff from pitching caused him to lose consistency with his mechanics. Control and command issues aside, Smoral made it through the season healthy and he's looking to build upon that by pitching during the upcoming instructional league. –Chris King

That killed me. Giolito kept falling and falling. I melted when the National's took him one pick before the Blue Jays.

Taylor Cole 8ks through 5 innings

Move to AA please

Maybe they're keeping him at Dunedin because they plan on not adding him to the 40-man roster in the off season and they figure he'd be less likely to be claimed by not having pitched at AA yet. Just speculating here..

It's been said already but Rowdy Tellez is heating up right now. Up to .250 now after a 2-4 night.

Its funny because I thought Michael Wacha before even clicking the link. One can dream...

Im happy with that first round anyways. If you told me before the draft we could get a player that developed into a #2 starter with either of the picks I would be happy.

So, Pentecost of the Canadians has twice left the bases loaded (stranding 6 on base in his last 2 at-bats). Yet, he is giving so much grace while other players would be sitting for a week or more if they didn't perform as the DH or any position. He is a top pick for us but there are also Champions sitting on the bench watching the team struggle. What are your thoughts king? 7 stranded runners by Pentecost in a single game?

Please tell me this is a sarcastic post?

If not, go look at Pentecosts stats before this game.
