Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 All I know is he looks exactly like Adrian Gonzalez. lol... similar.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 jaysblue hosting next year's GM winter meetings? He already did that for FC.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 He already did that for FC. Wat???
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Adam Duvall has a better ISO than Arenado, EE, Machado, Donaldson, and everybody else but David Ortiz. We all saw that coming, right?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Boxy's boyfriend Bret Sayre pouring cold water all up on this draft. --- Que (Panhandle): Do you think Jaime Schultz can continue his command growth sufficiently to be an above average rotation piece in an Aaron Sanchez-lite kind of way? Thanks for the chat! Bret Sayre: I don't see it. I think he's a back-end guy at best flashtheleather (HELLLOOO BRET WITH ONE T): Josh Ockimey is beasting in A ball. What do you make of this? Bret Sayre: Not getting too excited at this point. Fine to speculate, but talk to me when he's in Double-A. Donny (The Block): Of these OF's: Acuna, Cozens, Christin Stewart and Bader. How would you rank them in terms of future fantasy impact? Thanks. Bret Sayre: I'd go Acuna, Stewart, Cozens, Bader. That said, I fully expect the Cardinals to make me look stupid. Ronald (Acuna): Who is this years Victor Robles? Bret Sayre: Uhh. you? Jimmy (Baltimore): Tyler O Neil is raking. Can he be a future OF1? Bret Sayre: Nope. Brad (NJ): What do you think of Tyler O'neill and where do you think he ranks in next year's ranking? Bret Sayre: I'd be pretty surprised if he ended up in the top-50. It's not a profile I particularly like and it's a bad situation for him. Max (TX): In your opinion, what's the gap from Benintendi to a guy like Manuel Margot? Bret Sayre: He's a tier down. Margot more steals, but less average and power. David (Atlantis): What should we think about the performance of Cody Reed so far this season? (I refer to the Arizona one) Is his performance something we should be paying attention to as legitimate or is it more smoke & mirrors? Bret Sayre: Worth paying attention to, but don't translate that into TORP potential.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Adam Duvall has a better ISO than Arenado, EE, Machado, Donaldson, and everybody else but David Ortiz. We all saw that coming, right? He has also dabbled at 1B and 3B this year and in the minors so there is an off chance of him picking up flexibility. And IRL he has a good UZR to boot. It really shouldn't be THAT surprising that he is doing well. He had huge ISOs in the minors and his K rates were actually pretty good for a power hitter (20%). He wasn't like Steven Moya, with no walks and 30% k rate.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Him picking up 3B would be great since David Wright literally died. Er, figuratively literally, that is.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 You MUST own him in another league to paint such a flattering assessment. Edit: Yep, PL.

Dont talk to me til I see results in AA bro
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 What's not to like in O'Neill's profile? Competent OF defender, low-20s K rate, decent speed, monster power, and decent hit tool.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I wonder how Sayre would do in one of our leagues
TRM Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 What's not to like in O'Neill's profile? Competent OF defender, low-20s K rate, decent speed, monster power, and decent hit tool. maybe he hates Canadians

Improved his K rate and BB rate drastically as well, while moving up a level and being one of the youngest players at that level...
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Who is James Fisher? "Austin Meadows has done a good job since being drafted in 2013 but the strikeouts are troubling. As long as the power continues to come he will has a chance to be an everyday regular."(James Fisher) This was posted two weeks ago. Meadows had a 14% K-rate in A+ last year and is at around 17% in AA. Steamer projects his K-rate in MLB right now at 18.5%. We're really supposed to believe that strikeouts are a big red flag for Meadows? Did this guy even know who Meadows was when he answered the question? I get the feeling that BP's staff actually have very little idea about what they're talking about.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 What's not to like in O'Neill's profile? Competent OF defender, low-20s K rate, decent speed, monster power, and decent hit tool. K rate is 23% this year but was over 30% last couple of years. It's Safeco + corner profile + high K's + probably low/normal BB rate. And the f***ing Mariners. Keep it mind that BRET SAYRE is mostly giving advice for 12 team leagues too. If a prospect isn't a slam dunk 60 OFP / arguable 70 OFP then they aren't even worth considering. That's why the AA comment also makes sense.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Wow, Sayre loves Ronald Acuna. I've seen "the next Robles" on Acuna several times at BP, he's just parroting the house sentiment.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Wow, Sayre loves Ronald Acuna. or he knows Robles suxx
TRM Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 or he knows Robles suxx look at this guy. this guys fancies himself some sort of jokester
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Do people even do 12 team dynasties? Lol I dunno! The line between a dynasty league and a keeper league is probably pretty fuzzy
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 219 wRC+ in AAA for Zagunis after putting up a 153 mark in AA. He's like Jesse Winker, but actually good.

TRM Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 4 HR in 250 PA lol he's exactly like Winker!
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 he's exactly like Winker! Winker has two home runs this year lol More walks than strikeouts though Too much influence from Joey Votto

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Meanwhile Albert Almora is basically a CF version of Nomar Garciaparra, already in the majors, and younger than Winker.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Seems like a dick, to be honest. If you ever listen to their podcast, Sayre sounds a poindexter dumbass. He's so boring to listen to, it's actually painful.
