Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I get the feeling that I think more of J.P. Crawford than most people here. Silvergun is just rattled cuz now I have a better BP than him.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 And boxy is a well-known statscout who drafted Billy McKinney ahead of Crawford.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Teams use more than one catcher over the course of a season. You not being aware of this goes a long way towards explaining why you have never made the playoffs in any league. That could be it. I always thought Thole and Martin were the same person with different jerseys on. I'm glad you let me know.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Silvergun is just rattled cuz now I have a better BP than him. He should have offered me more than Moya for Betances then
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 He should have offered me more than Moya for Betances then Can Moya catch?

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Moya can't do anything. He shouldn't even be owned in this league.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I get the feeling that I think more of J.P. Crawford than most people here. I like him.... I think i made the right choice keeping Lindor but i think he will produce just as well.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Moya can't do anything. He shouldn't even be owned in this league. But the question is, if Moya had someone help him put on the catching gear. Do you think he could catch? Ausmus could give him some pointers. And being 6'7" might be a problem, but he could talk to Joe Mauer and see how he did it. Win, win for everyone.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I like him.... I think i made the right choice keeping Lindor but i think he will produce just as well. Boxy repeatedly scoffed at Lindor, and who's laughing now? Exactly 162 career games: 19 HR, 22 SB, 90 R, 84 RBI, .311/.357/.471. That's a fantasy star. Turns out the scouts know what they're doing.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 6/2/2015 My condolences. Though I never really understood why anyone liked Lindor in a fantasy setting at all. Above average hit tool and speed, advanced for age, walks at a decent clip. He could be a leadoff hitter and will never move off SS. Obviously there won't be much power, but it's also not a total slap hitter. He could be Andrus with a slightly better stick and less speed. Maybe something like .275/.350/.390 with 25 steals and 80-90 runs. Bump for me being right.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Yes please continue pumping Crawford's tire (and then trade for him in LOD).
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I love my Lindor... and Crawford too. Crawford will walk a lot, which is great for this OBP format. I don't know if he has 20 SB upside like Lindor, but otherwise I think they're pretty similar hitters. Both guys are guaranteed shortstops who should hit .270+ with strong OBPs, 10+ HR & SB, and 80-100 runs because they'll hit at the top of the order.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Yes please continue pumping Crawford's tire (and then trade for him in LOD). available in BORED too
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Since we're talking about the SS Revolution, I just want to put my stake in the ground and say Corey Seager > Xander Bogaerts going forward.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Since we're talking about the SS Revolution, I just want to put my stake in the ground and say Corey Seager > Xander Bogaerts going forward. Don't know what to make of Xander anymore. Had a pretty suspect looking season last year but he's following that up what appears to be some pretty serious hype confirmation.

I think thats realistic.... More power and Bogaerts average is not going to stay up there for ever sooner or later it will come down to the .300 mark
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Don't know what to make of Xander anymore. Had a pretty suspect looking season last year but he's following that up what appears to be some pretty serious hype confirmation. Even good hitters can't sustain .400 BABIPs. Xander is like a 70/50 (hit/pwr) dude while Seager is a 60/60 guy. They're both great, I just prefer the power.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 It's also worth pointing out that Seager's career wOBA is like 50 points higher.

GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Are you on acid? Nope. I just love to see doors opening for players to make the majors and play. It makes me feel good that Zagunis Ilgauskas could possibly suit up as the backstop for the Cubbies
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Yeah? The same ones who said he'd be a defense first slap hitter? No one said that except you. The scouts saw an advanced approach and realized that a league-average bat from an underaged SS was actually really good.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Lindor is projected for a 70ish wRC+. He's basically Ryan Goins with a slightly better HIT TEWL, and less of a track record against ADVUNSED PEETCHIN Ryan Goins with a slightly better HIT TEWL
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 No one said that except you. The scouts saw an advanced approach and realized that a league-average bat from an underaged SS was actually really good. So "slap hitter" and "there's obviously not going to be much power" are incongruous. Gotcha. As for the clash I'm actually interested in, I also think Gibbers took a hit of acid.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Ryan Goins with a slightly better HIT TEWL Remember that time Dingding took Sonny Gray like 15 rounds early and mocked me for saying that he sucks? It's almost as if guys who don't actually work in a baseball related capacity can be wrong.
