Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Why didn't he call up Sano months ago? The kid is a beast. NJH, please win.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Why didn't he call up Sano months ago? The kid is a beast. NJH, please win. yeah, I probably would have called him up somewhere around that 3HR's in 3 days at the end of August.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 yeah, I probably would have called him up somewhere around that 3HR's in 3 days at the end of August. Jhonny has been slumping pretty hard lately and Matt Duffy is quite obviously NOT legit, so I would have done it awhile ago to take full advantage of Sano's first and last year of SS eligibility. He looks deadly locked in right now.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Silvergun is rolling with only 6 SPs, and one of them is Jered Weaver. Except 4 of them are hands-down aces, and he has probably the two best closers in baseball. It will be interested to see if his quality trumps NJH's quantity (and quality).
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Matt Duffy is quite obviously NOT legit What makes you think that?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Projections don't quite think Duffy is a league average hitter and he doesn't have real power or speed. I think he and Panik are decent real-life players, but not good fantasy options. I wouldn't peg him as "quite obviously not legit" based solely on rest of season projections. I assume Dinger has something else he's found to suggest it.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I'm just being snotty, although really though, he's meh.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 The picks: Min, North, silvergun, FTD. Your dumn.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Min, North, Havok and Feather D Your RELLY dumn.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 My picks: njh over TRM Dinger over North jaysblue over FTD Silvergun over havok Your relly smrt.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 The Butt Stallions vs. London Slayers Things to watch: Corey Kluber - whether or not he gets a start later this week could be huge for silvergun. Edwin Encarnacion - aggravated his finger on the weekend. could he miss a few games? Miguel Sano - super rookie just called up by silvergun. Joey Votto - 2 game suspension hanging over his head, pending appeal. When will he serve it? Votto + Chris Davis - behemoths since the ASB for me Dickerson vs Scherzer - Dickerson got healthy just in time for the mid-season blockbuster centrepieces to go head to head this week. Los Osos Blancos vs. Triple Hawpe Brewed Things to watch: Stars vs Stars - Arenado, Brantley, Posey, Cruz, Freeman, and Greinke vs. Cano, Cabrera, Bautista, Braun, Ortiz, Bumgarner, and Sale. Ellsbury and Pujols - these two slumping veterans may need to pick it up if Dinger is going to make the finals Carlos Rodon - the true X factor. Can sink or cement a team's ratios. Jaime Garcia - the Ace up Dinger's sleeve this season is coming off of his only terrible outing all year. Starlin Castro / Eduardo Escobar - with Tulo down for the count, jaysblue will be rolling out these two shitbags. Zack Greinke - with only one Ace on his staff, and a couple of flimsy options rounding it out, jaysblue has A LOT riding on Greinke's weekend start against the Pirates. Silvio in New York - will it affect the matchup at all?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I really lucked out with Greinke having a one-start week and Tulo being out. Nelly Cruz is also a bit banged up, but hit a tater in his first game back. I'm hoping to take 3 offensive categories and the bulk of the pitching categories, with SV being money in the bank. Rodon may get skipped this week.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 And as for Ellsbury... ugh, I probably will bench him for Valencia and only start him if I need SB/R come Friday. Even then I may use Hamilton instead.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 f***... I kinda wanna call up Swihart, who's absolutely crushing it lately (.492/.571 over the last 30 days, .333/.390/.454 since ASB). Can't really afford to FUBAR my 20 man roster for next year, though, which is already problematic.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I doubt it. I'll probably call him up day 1 next year and roll with him for better or worse. He doesn't have a ton of apparent trade value at the moment and it would be nice to have at least one young hitter to keep going forward.

He has a .382 BABIP, s***** peripherals, and a 78 wRC+ projection. There will be better 2016 catchers in the waiver draft. Bro.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Meh, I don't care too much about projections. He's hit well at every level after initial adjustment periods. I can grab a waiver C to be his caddy but I expect him to be keeper-worthy going forward.
