I'm pretty surprised that I've gotten zero bites on Hunter. Dude is a pretty significant contributor.

 

For me personally, it's not that I don't like him; it's that I already have a crowded OF as is.

20 is a small keeper limit, so it's hard to fit an old vet in there. And the teams that have room in their 20 are generally shopping for young players.

Yeah, after transferring the rosters, I noticed everyone is between 27 and 31 players. With so many cuts, there should be a lot of rosterable players in the Waiver Draft next year. And that's the idea, really.

Congrats to FTD, built his team beautifully. Bunch of young players, stud prospects and enough vets to sneak into the playoffs, which gave him a chance to win. I went into the season trying to do the same thing and my team ended up as 1 giant cluster f*** of a mess.

I don't think an instant chat would get much usage. PMs are good for trade negotiations, otherwise there's here or the general forum on the PB.

Not that it ended up having much difference, but he faced and lost against BTS with a healthy Matt Cain on his bench and didnt make a single move.

I think we should make a change next year that once you get eliminated from playoffs it goes off standings. It doesn't make much sense to go off consolation.

I've updated the "2014 MiLB Draft Order" thread with traded picks, everything should be up to date. As always, please double-check and make sure you have all the picks you've traded for. I have locked the "2014 MiLB Draft Picks" thread, which we were using to track pick ownership before the order was finalized. All MiLB/Waiver draft picks that are traded this off-season will be tracked both on the individual roster pages and the two draft order threads.

I just searched his name in the members list. It says he was last on the board 08-15-2013. So a month and a half ago. Did you try reaching him by email? At what point do we find a new manager for the team?

I just sent him an email to check if he's still interested in staying in the league. I think we need to give him at least a week or two to respond before we start looking for a replacement. But having said that, if we do need a replacement, I nominate JFaS.

His team has a few nice pieces: Votto, Desmond, Greinke, Cain, and the 1st overall pick (likely Rodon). He'll also have the 3rd pick in the Waiver Draft, which should net a nice IFA.

No rush at this point in time for a replacement, we need to give Sammy a bit more slack. Something could have happened IRL.

 

But in a few weeks if he's still AFK, then I would second JFaS, if he would want in.

I just don't think it really matters enough, and finishing as high as possible carries some inherent value. I didn't win this year but I'm fairly pleased with finishing 3rd in a tough ass league like this. Winning your 5th place game or 7th place game is still a good achievement.

 

One thing we've discussed doing is making the consolation winners actually get the better draft pick.

Yup, teams aren't competitive so you go to Hawaii and forget about them for the final month. Not a huge deal.

Tying in the draft picks makes sense though, I'd get behind that.

It will be in late February (after Yahoo opens). It'll be a 12-hour window draft like we've done the MiLB drafts so may take a few weeks. Not sure what that means for your situation, I guess you could post the range.
