BTS Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 BTS said that the DDL would have an opening. Ownership of his team should be given to me on the basis that he jinxed it and he's dumn. gotta at least try Congrats, if this goes to vote I won't vote for you now. Very wise post.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Congrats, if this goes to vote I won't vote for you now. Very wise post. Let's be honest, you weren't voting for me anyway. lol But hypothetically, that post locked up Silvergun's vote, so worth it.

BTS Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 But seriously Hurl, keep your team. You probably won't find a challenge like this anywhere else.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Jonn and RealAccountant should be considered. They're knowledgeable posters and I hear they're looking to get into a league.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Looks like 2 spots are opened after North is removed for his comments. lol I'd probably vote (if we do use a voting process) for whoever presents the greatest challenge. DDL should be the brightest and best of this board.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I actually meant I'd choose someone to take my team, someone who will give it back to me when I'm ready to return. I'm taking on a 2nd and possibly 3rd job over the next few weeks to pay for my trip to the IMG academy. I'd like to be in a financial position to stay in Florida and work (intern, likely unpaid) with the academy. My prof was there this month and talked me up to people and wants me to apply when there, including his former student who is now with the Bradenton Pirates.

Poor quality but you get the point.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WL7krrR8ms

GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I'm next in line. Well yeah, no s***
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 IN! cf You already have a team, North.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 The roster spot is the asset. And what would you have me do with the roster spot? Generate a keeper out of thin air? I'd rather spend it on Chatwood than a journeyman. I could have has a better SP than your guy from Jaysblue or someone else for less than you wanted but I preffered the lottery ticket route with Chatwood and I don't think it's that hard to understand why.

It actually is given that Chatwood has like Charlie Morton upside, which means you're burning a roster spot through the cut to maybe have an injury prone SP7 in 2016. But it's your team, and there's no point in discussing it further.

BTS Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Wow. We've all been there. I rostered Felix Doubront through the cut last year (and was ridiculed for it). At least he was healthy though.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 I don't think keeping Chatwood is necessarily a good idea, but the guy touches 97. It's a gamble on velocity + youth, which is one of the better characteristic combinations to take a long shot bet on.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I'm looking to move SP Vance Worley for a 2nd round pick. He had a solid year with the Pirates last season (3.54 xFIP). Any team lacking starting pitching, send me a PM.

BTS Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Nothing will beat Grant asking for the 6th overall MiLB pick for John Axford and then defending it for multiple pages in the BBDL.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 What about when he tried to trade Kevin Gregg and used % owned as an argument? Was this in MPL? I vaguely remember it. LOL Grant.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I dropped Worley to pick up Carlos Frias lol

AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 FYI, I want into DDL eventually. I'll concede that JFaS and King should be ahead of me.

AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 No love for one of your power ranking stars? Thought you were already in there. Ok GD first too. Dang!
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 I'm not saying that a queue to get into the DDL actually exists, but if it did exist, hypothetically, the person who takes thehurl's team over for a year, runs it responsibly, and then gives it back to him whenever he wants, would probably jump to the top of that imaginary queue.
