Thanks for the PRs. Not to be all No49, but I think my pitching has improved a lot and my ranking doesn't reflect how good it is going forward. A Top 6 of Shields, Bumgarner, Ryu, Medlen, Lester, Pineda can hang with any team except maybe True Cards, plus I feel like I have a borderline elite pen anchored by Chapman and Uehara. Lackey has also been shockingly ownable. I'm ready for a deep push, and it begins with the decapitation of heretofore juggernaut BALCO Pharm Team.

Also, at this point there is a clear cut upper echelon, with a few solid teams that could join it with the right trades. (Kats, BTS, FTD). Should be an exciting playoff race and playoffs.

What are the call-up thesholds? I know its on proboards, but I can't access it at work.

Prospects may not be promoted to the MLB roster until they have played at least one game at AA or higher. Similarly, free agent prospects may not be added to a MLB man roster until they have played at AA or higher.

Prospects may be kept on an MiLB roster until the following MLB conditions are met:

Hitters: 500 career PA

Pitchers: 26 career X [where X = GS + 0.5(relief appearances)]

Once a prospect has crossed one of these thresholds, he must be promoted to the MLB roster no later than the next February Prospect Cutdown or the next Annual MiLB Draft Prospect Cutdown, whichever comes first.

I thought we weren't allowed to add free agent prospects unless they get called up to MLB. I believe Dinger said before that prospects can only be added by the MiLB draft.

It's a moot point, because Yahoo won't add them mid-season unless they get called up. The spirit of this rule is to have GMs avoid owning/drafting minor league players that Yahoo decided to put in the database despite being below AA. They don't really do that any more, so it's not really an issue. Obviously, you can't promote a player from your MiLB roster unless they are in the Yahoo database.

For example, last year Yahoo had Bubba Starling and Francisco Lindor in the database (they've had to retain them in the database now for dynasty reasons I assume). This year, they didn't add anybody that low in the minors to the database, they only added stud prospects who could plausibly be up this year.

Well, it doesn't really matter. Anybody at AA or above who's worth owning while they are an NA will already be on a minor league roster at this point. So it's essentially a moot point.

But if there is some prospect that is unowned and not in the big leagues yet, if they have played at AA and are in Yahoo's system, then you would be within the rules to add them and stash them as an NA or on your bench.
