btw, Billy Hamilton is finally hitting and has 9 SB's in his last 3 games. Legit category winner. Can be had for a decent prospect or as part of a bigger deal

Martes has been sucky this year :( I picked him over Contreras in the FC waiver draft, which is bumming me out.

 

ERA over 6 and FIP close to 5 while walking over 6/9 in 30+ AA innings so far. He probably won't even be on midseason top-100 lists.

 

Don't worry Dinger, Martes is back and better then ever!

 

Since these posts were made he has a 9.91 K/9 and a 2.85 BB/9 with a 2.46 FIP in AA while being the youngest pitcher in the league.

 

Since May 28th he's been even better... 10.51 K/9 and 2.57 BB/9 with a 2.15 FIP.

Mainly just brought this up so everyone else could see how good he actually is. Hoping to flip him for a win now piece.

 

But I might have to actually hold onto him after seeing his numbers after his rough 1st month. He's been pretty impressive, didn't know he was the youngest starter in AA either.

I gave him Martes (NA) plus his choice of two of Verdugo, SRF, and Hader. It was a solid prospect return, and if I weren't a full-on win now team, probably wouldnt have done it.

I know projections still have him hitting 10 the rest of the way, though he's slowed down and has regressed heavily since the ASG. Plus, I wouldn't bank on him staying a consistent 40-HR threat based on his inconsistent career to date.

I don't think there's a player you'd bank on being a consistent 40-HR guy.

Trade deadline is fast approaching, and I have a few pieces to sell off:

 

Evan Gattis

Howie Kendrick

Luis Valbuena

Jason Grilli

Jim Johnson (closer)

Kevin Siegrist

 

Pick upgrades for the relievers and a SP for the bats would be ideal. I'd take on an injured starter.

Would trade d'Arnaud, B Hamilton, or Reed for a return I really like.

 

Looking mostly for pitching (roster or MiLB) that is fairly close. Would consider straight for picks/pick upgrade on the less desirable assets.
