dunno if anyone noticed, but I've added Anthony Rendon to my ML roster, so he can be taken off my propsect roster.

Mike Dunn (1 SV, 6 HLD, 1.74 ERA, 20 K's) is available as well. If James Russell is demanding a top 50 pick, or a package of a pick for a 1st/2nd rounder, then I guess Mike Dunn can as well. Dunn has been very solid this season, and likely is next in line for saves with Cishek struggling this season.

Roto is meant for cash leagues, with no bench and weekly moves for me. None of us would have drafted the same for Roto so Roto standings mean nothing for the league.

When is the NA going to go into effect. I am not trying to be difficult, but I am facing a bit of a roster crunch come this weekend, and Al Albuquergue just got sent down.

The prospect cut down date is June 2nd. It makes sense to add the NA slot just before that, so people can promote and stash a prospect if they want to juggle their roster that way. I'll push it through on the morning of Friday, May 31st.

Not to be anal but what time June 2? I'm leaving for Bermuda tonight and I won't be home until then.

(This also means any trade talks with me that down come to fruition tonight are pretty much down the toilet).

For the NA slot add? That's going to be May 31st now. I want it to be before the prospect cut down deadline, which is June 2nd at 11:59 PM EST. I'll add the NA slot on May 31st in the AM. Let's say 8 AM right on the nose. I'll set an alarm for it.

Byron Buxton - Has probably had the biggest value increase since the draft, likely #1 prospect next year.

Gary Sanchez - Having a nice year; traded for Zimmerman.

Giolito - Still love the upside, should get back on the mound later this season.

Marisnick - Could help out next year, I still buy 20/20 potential, with CF eligibility that's pretty nice.

Yordano Ventura - The steal of Round 5, dominating AA and looking like he can stick in the rotation.

Richie Shaffer - Disappointing college bat; I could cut him but I don't need to clear space.

Holy crap, Yordano Ventura has been ridiculous.

Oddly enough, I would have taken Luis Heredia instead if he hadn't been popped the pick before me. Some nice dumb luck for me there.

Oscar Tavarez - had a poor start but has been climbing pretty steadily, up to a .831 OPS

Danny Hultzen - started great but shoulder troubles have derailed his season. Its been too quite for my liking

Gregory Polanco - has had a great year so far with the power, steals, and average holding from last year. I see him rocketing up the prospect rankings.

Alex Meyer - A bit up and down with him, but the K's are there

John Schoop - Pretty disappointing year for Schoop. I can take solice in the fact he's a 21 year old at AAA and a SS.

Marcell Ozuna - STEAL is the only way to describe this pick. Good power continued in Jacksonville this year and he's holding his own in the MLB after a surprising callup.

I really didn't consider Heredia at all. His results are just too unsexy.

No Ks; too far away. If you can't strike out guys in Low-A, it's not really an interesting fantasy profile. At the time, Kevin Goldstein had been fellating him a lot and talking him up, putting him in a troika with Cole and Taillon. I had him neck and neck with Ventura at my pick, but there was more uncertainty about whether Ventura could start at the time. Now he looks like a stud.

6-6 kid who throws 96 and flashes two plus offspeed offerings, sign me up. NYPL stats for a 17 year-old don't mean much.

If the draft was today, would you pass on Ventura for him though?

Posted
Probably, although it's super close. Ventura doesn't really have a third pitch and Major Leaguers can hit velocity. If he can stick in the rotation great, but it seems there's a good chance he ends up a reliever. And the Royals haven't developed a pitcher since Zack Greinke, I'm wary of them messing him up.

Ventura has better stuff than Heredia and is far more advanced. He can touch 100 and has a hammer curve, if anything, Heredia is the one that lacks an out pitch. We're talking about a slam dunk Top 50 guy vs a fringe Top 100 in short season ball.

Posted
I'd have to read some recent reports on Ventura to see if he's improved the change.

Heredia still has time to develop all three pitches and has shown a feel for them already. I wouldn't say he's fringe, he's ranked low because he's 17 and there are no guarantees. Heredia's as talented as anyone can be at 17 and I'm fine with him being a lottery ticket.

Why do you care about Ventura's change? He throws 100 and has a plus curve, that's enough already. He really just needs a show-me changup. Moreover, Ventura will probably debut this year, whereas you won't see Heredia til 2016 if he even makes it.

BTW I didn't say Heredia was a fringe prospect, I said he's a fringe Top 100 guy. He's a legit prospect.

Jameson Taillon - Doing well in AA. 10.19 K/9, 3.56 BB/9, 2.88 FIP. Pretty much what I have expected from him with the pick.

Carlos Martinez - Holding his own in the Cardinals pen w/ 2.68 FIP, 10.18 K/9. Fastball has touched triple digits, but sits in the high 90s. Currently still have him on my MiLB roster.

Taylor Guerrieri - Has a very nice K/BB ratio again to start the year.

Courtney Hawkins - The season has been ugly so far striking out 50% of the time and he recently hurt his shoulder. Still showing good power and bat speed, so pretty much just wait and see.

Joc Pederson - Has been a solid pick for me. He's just 21 and currently tearing up AA w/ a .931 OPS. Also, has 13 SB and only 2 CS so far this year.

Garin Cecchini - Currently in High A posting a 1.124 OPS and leading the league in many offensive categories. Like the see that he is also taking more free passes then SO.

Who is excited for Skaggs 2013 debut tomorrow?? As excited as I am, I know I will be benching him against a tough Texas offense.

I'd be willing to trade for him. I still like the kid

I'm heading for a 7-7 split with NJH in a league where I own Miggy & M. Carpenter and he owns Corbin. Oddly enough, we are also playing each other in Nox's ottoneu league where I own Corbin and he owns Miggy & Carpenter.

Rendon - Has obliterated AA. Really happy I picked him, looks like a surefire star.

Dahl - Only played 10 games so far, but I still like him long term.

Winker - Destroying the MWL at 19 with a .310/.414/.532 line. 26 walks to 30 strikeouts in 44 games. My favourite prospect.

Berrios - 33.1 IP, 40 k's to 6 walks, 2.70 ERA in the MWL. Turns 19 tomorrow.

Correa - Walking a shitload, but no pop yet. Hopefully he fills out a bit because he's a toothpick. Could be a monster if he adds power.

Sanchez - Been pretty good. Excited about the prospects of him playing in NY.

Garcia - Garbage. I'm gonna be cutting him.

oops, didnt realize this was intended just for the draft.

DeShields - Traded. Big SB potential but I didn't like his bat enough.

Wil Myers - Alarming K-Rates, isn't hitting a bunch out of the park. If I had to do the draft over right now ... I'd still take him I'm not that stupid.

George Springer - Alarming K-Rates, is hitting for a lot of power. If I had to to do the draft over right now...he'd probably already be taken.

Mason Williams - Wasn't happy with the pick at the time. I still think he's a legit CF prospect but the numbers are effected by his off field issues.

Eddie Rosario - Read a glowing review of his 2B D recently. Knowing he's sticking at 2B and has to be added to the 40 man next year. I'm loving this pick, good contact makes up for his lack of walks, solid number of XBH's show he's got some power. Very Altuve'esk. I'll say he's a top 10 2B in the majors by 2015.

JR Graham - There are guys taken after him that I'd be happier with...a guy leaving with shoulder discomfort will do that though. Great articles about him changing his grip and starting position prior to the injury. Scope showed no damage and they prescribed rest. Considering I drafted him looking for him to become a reliever, only number that matters to me is that triple digit speed on the gun.

Lance McCullers Jr. - traded him. Don't know what to make of him. He's can't seem to go more than 5 innings, has control issues but he's looking like a legit GB and K pitcher. He's got closer stuff but he's young enough to work on lowering the BB's which will help him out and he might stick at starter.

I didn't know that old Lind had such a Latin flare. Check out the first name as it appears on my DDL

I'm willing to blow my prospect wad for a top of the rotation starter. If you're thinking about shopping a great arm and have any interest in Buxton, Giolito or Ventura, hit me up. I'm willing to trade MLB pieces too but would rather trade prospects/picks primarily.
