I've been kind of guilty the past couple years of just coasting. I've built a self sustaining team. 7 straight playoff appearances. 8th this year.

Maybe just let this one play out, and start another points league. Keeper with salaries. Auction draft. Points league is slightly less work than a head to head right?

We have tried various little leagues over time and they never really stick

I remember starting an auction keeper, and a salary league

My SENSE in the DDL is that there are a few owners who don't really have time or pay much attention, but I have done e-mail blasts seeing if anyone wants to step aside before and nobody does.

I was in the BBDL / BORED threads all offseason trying to convince them to contract and morph into a different type of league as well, so that we don't have three identical 20 teamers. It's kind of funny to me that the one league decided to bring in randoms through fantrax rather than just contract or fold.

I dunno.

Maybe we are fine. Maybe we should shake things up.

I went to the Finals in said league, in case it was forgotten. Title would’ve been nice but still goes on my 1st ballot HOF fantasy resume

Looking at total trades, I think we'll be fine. DDL actually has more trades than BORED this offseason and last season. So it seems we're still going strong into our 11th season. I think it just seems like there's less movement because we're reminiscing the old days when there were 5 way trades. And maybe comparing it to the LOD where fringe roster pieces are actually worth trading for.

It's definitely hard for me to find trades in the DDL but that's just because my roster is so stacked. Very few teams can even offer me an upgrade. Sigh.

There’s definitely a problem. In a healthy league there should be a market for players in the 100-300 range of dynasty assets.

I think and hope you’re also right that it will resolve itself though. Probably via new owners when we lose guys who aren’t interested anymore, but haven’t worked up to leaving yet.

note - adds count is an approximation for most

trades and days logged in are actual

props to TCA for logging in 362 days of the year lol

also props to BTS for being at or near 100 adds and leading the league in trades. wow.

my concerns lie with:

havok, thehurl, speedy, goldbull, eze, and dinger.

to varying degrees and for different reasons... most are just evident on the chart, but dinger seems pretty disinterested.

0 trades from p2f in a year is rough. is he mentally checked out of this league?

single digit adds in a dynasty league all year is just brutal.

twenty adds is dogshit, who are we kidding?

I take the DDL VERY seriously

Also, if you're actively logging in and not making at least 2-3 adds a week: you're too attached to the mediocre dead weight on your team. Bad teams should basically be maxing out adds, and good teams should be close.

You should probably fix your rotation then.

Not going to need any pitching wins this year

Let me know if you guys need some Danger in your league.

Can you bring William and MikeM with you? Make the DDL great again.

What was the activity a year before to that graph? And Hurl said he's back in seriously this go around. Oh, and Eze asked me tonight on a guy, he's active.

Mentally checked out? Yes and no.

I suffered from a complete lack of interest in baseball last season, but ended up finding something toward the end of the season. It showed in the complete overhaul of my LoD roster ahead of the trade deadline, but that activity didn't quite translate over to my DDL team as well.

For what it's worth, I do recall trying to make a few trades down the stretch, but was always getting outbid by others. There's also the fact that my team isn't exactly flush with trade chips - the farm is mediocre and the roster is stars and scrubs.

You would probably be correct in saying that I haven't done a very good job with fringe roster management or restocking the cupboards through the draft. And most people haven't coveted my best prospects, either because my best aren't good enough or because my best have primarily been pitchers for quite a while.

Exiting DDL is something I've considered off and on the past couple of years, but haven't yet reached a breaking point. I guess I haven't felt the need to be decisive because I didn't think I was even one of the worst offenders, but as your chart shows, I actually was.

The juxtaposition of all of this is that I had regrets about leaving BORED after I did, so want to be certain before leaving.

I will give it another go in DDL this season, but if I can't bring myself to give the league the attention it deserves, I will bow out at season's end in favour of an injection of some new blood. I can certainly do better.

Hopefully this is agreeable to the league.

FWIW, I don't think your activity is really problematic: you're very responsive to trade inquires (even though you apparently didn't actually close any deals), and your roster is usually well-managed. I hope you don't leave.

I can vouch the league is quite top heavy and I couldn't trade s*** to get better, from teams that should've sold and or sell. Frustrating.

Man, I tried for like a month near the deadline last year to buy 34+ year olds from teams like 50 games under 0.500 and... crickets

Same. Remember we had this discussion at the deadline.

If everyone gets a smack in the ass, maybe the league wakes up.

The draft was good, I don't recall any absent owners. Interest will fluctuate.... building a good team and then seeing it fall back into the pack is frustrating, but I for one have more interest when I'm rebuilding then when I'm trying to sustain a good team winning.

Thanks. I'm quite shocked to discover we didn't connect on any deals for an entire season. 2023 is off to a more promising start for Mike's Bikes though, as you and I have already closed two deals this offseason.

Yeah, that challenge is so different. Love fantasy sports.
