Laika Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2018 Author Posted September 24, 2018 Sorry, I just can't stomach someone winning the Crown and then not picking last. There's a reason all of the real life major sports give the playoff champion the last draft pick (I could say the same about all the other draft slots but whatever).

There's a reason all of the real life major sports give the playoff champion the last draft pick (I could say the same about all the other draft slots but whatever). Literally none of them do that. It's very tiny so I'm not going to fight it but it kind of feels like a punishment for winning.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I wonder if you should cycle back even further. Now is the time to get rid of Ozzie. This could be the sell window for Bieber and Martinez and Peter Alonso and Haniger. Last year was the time to flip Castillo and Bour (oops too late). I need to hold the young guys and hope they're for real/breakout. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to flipping Martinez for someone younger and I tried moving Bour last season, as well as in the offseason, but to no avail. I almost had a taker but it didn't work out. I'd move Albies in the right deal, but I have a feeling I'm better off holding at this point and hoping he improves next season. Mitch is just really good at baseball. Side note: I can't believe I'm looking at keeping three Reds starters.

People will be more willing to trade with you if you spread your cheeks from time to time.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Leave the poor man alone, he traded Juan Soto and Victor Robles for a late 1st FFS. FML. I'm never again trading another prospect.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 FML. I'm never again trading another prospect. Who did you end up drafting?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Who did you end up drafting? The trade was for Jake Lamb. I then dealt Jake Lamb back to Dinger this season for the pick. You best believe I'm going to draft the next Mike Trout with that pick!
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2018 Author Posted September 24, 2018 Literally none of them do that. It's very tiny so I'm not going to fight it but it kind of feels like a punishment for winning. By "all of the real life major sports" I meant just the NHL, obviously.

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 I'm going to jump the market and AUCTION Joey Votto. Several teams have expressed interest in him specifically. - I'll accept the best offer by Sunday at 10 PM. - I'll consider offers for Votto + someone else big, but you might also want to make a coinciding offer for just (or mostly) Votto so you have a chance if I decide to only sell him. - I am focused on quality, not quantity. If you can offer 1 attractive roster player and 1 blue chip prospect, you'll have a good chance of winning the auction.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Holy crap I thought Votto was like 32/33, didn't realize he was already 35.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Holy crap I thought Votto was like 32/33, didn't realize he was already 35. Why do you always do this?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Holy crap I thought Votto was like 32/33, didn't realize he was already 35. Yeah but he's aged like fine wine and is still a monster, outlier ISO season notwithstanding.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Yeah but he's aged like fine wine and is still a monster, outlier ISO season notwithstanding. ISO won't return to previous levels. Nobody should make offers on Votto.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Yeah but he's aged like fine wine and is still a monster, outlier ISO season notwithstanding. Miguel Cabrera aged like fine wine until one day he was just vinegar. And now he's pretty much dead.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 (edited) Holy crap I thought Votto was like 32/33, didn't realize he was already 35. This along with his power disappearing this year is why I didn't want to trade Didi/Ozuna/Polanco for him. Looking back to last year maybe it was a sign of things to come. He only had 10 HRs and a .184 ISO in the 2nd half. Edited September 25, 2018 by The Cats Ass

TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Why do you always do this? He usually follows it up with a lowball offer

It's not that you have a history of only offering trash for literally anyone you attempt to trade for.

According to your logic I shouldn't have any trades completed? When actually I have almost twice as many as you..

The best offer so far is: A farm player who is MLB ready and probably a top ~50 fantasy prospect + a SP under 28 with upside and some solid production but an injury history It's acceptable but I do think someone can top this.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Don't look now, but Matt Harvey is looking like an ace again lately.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Don't look now, but Matt Harvey is looking like an ace again lately. I just looked. This seems to be untrue.
