This. He was overrated before and didn't have much power even with the roids. Here's hoping he's Rajai Davis going forward.

Lol he wasn't overrated at all

So FTD gets screwed out of his waiver spot? Nice.

Aren't you supposed to clear up a spot as soon as you make a trade?

He actually picked him up after he cleared waivers. So no, he didn't lose his spot.

The same thing just happened in BORED too. People make trades without making sure that their roster is legal and ready to accommodate the pieces they're adding. It's very annoying.

Commissioners should not process trades that way. All trades involving MLB players can be processed through Yahoo, players should never be dropped to waivers during a trade unless a commissioner is immediately adding them to a roster via the Roster Management function. I'm of the opinion that FTD should get to keep Parker in this scenario, the onus is on pretty much anybody except him to make sure that Parker found his proper home. It didn't happen, not just for a day but for the entire waiver period. It's not FTD's responsibility to comb through transaction records to see if Parker is dangling in transaction purgatory. I'm sorry, but this should be a TS moment.

The problem was that I dropped the players from SG, added his players, then went to add them to JF's roster and couldn't because Semien was injured and on the DL. That kind of thing seems to happen like half the time a trade is made.

Posted

What? I fixed my roster right when the trade was made and couldnt add Parker because he got put on waivers. Why would I create a waiver claim for a player I just traded for.

FTD added him the day he cleared

Posted
The original issue is I had an active player on the DL, and because Yahoo is crude it would require me to drop a player despite freeing up a spot in the same trade.

You're a rule-skirter.

The precedent for doing that kind of thing is well established, and when I pointed out it could be done legally in multiple steps NJH tried to bite me.

There was no issue with the way it was processed for you. It would have went smoothly if Semien were active, but I couldn't add parker or Williams to JF's roster when I tried because he was on the DL but not DL eligible.

Also, I'm salty about this because it happened like 3 hours after an issue in BORED where Orgfiller made a trade, didn't have room for the player he acquired, responded to me like 27 hours after I asked who he was dropping (at which point I had obviously forgotten about the whole thing), didn't say anything else for a week, and then had the audacity to blame me when someone added the player he had acquired.

I kind of regret trading Tatis. He's looking like a pimp.

I feel pretty comfortable slapping a 60 FV on him right now. Still lots of risk, but he has the tools.

I think that's a great haul for Marte, who I hope sucks going forward. Lots of possible impact and Salazar alone is like 75% of the way there

I'm reasonably happy with the return - lots of potential coming back. It gives me some serviceable roster pieces that are all possible keepers. I still like Salazar a fair bit, Vizcaino is a pretty good reliever, Joseph is an upgrade on some of the scrubs I was/am rostering (such a stars and scrubs roster).

As for the prospects, Funkhouser looks like a dude. And I had previously written him off, but Chavis could actually be something, too.

Would anyone give a pick for Matt Bowman? He's got 15 holds, and the numbers are actually pretty good so far.

I have no idea what PECOTA's player similarity index is worth. I assume nothing. But Ronald Acuna's top-2 similar players is too fun not to post.

1. Mike Trout

2. Carlos Correa

Also, Freddie Freeman at 7.

For the record - commissioners shouldn't push trades through during the regular season in order to circumvent Yahoo rules like DL limitations. I feel like silvergums asks us to do this 5 times a year so that he doesn't have to drop a player and we normally accommodate him, for some retarded reason.

No more!

If you can't just do the MLB part on Yahoo then the trade is rotten. The exception is if you are trading an MLB player for purely MiLB assets, then maybe a commissioner will add him to the other team so the owner doesn't have to waiver claim the player. That's it though.

No need to single me out sir, everyone that asked had this done for them every time!

Also it really doesn't change anything in the way I do business, my deals all end in a legal roster so it's just multiple transactions now.

If you want to enact the change you seem to be going for, it would require a mlb-for-mlb exchange in any deal, regardless if they'll be instantly dropped.

Ahem, for the record I don't care for that idea...

I don't understand any of this. It's like Donald Trump joined a fantasy baseball team and got caught colluding and then blew some hot air on Fox n Friends. Big league.

I'm singling you out mostly because you're the most recent pervert to do it. You know you're my favourite league member other than TCA.

I'm just channeling my inner AA, whereas your apparent sundowning is very presidential imho, commander in chief! I outlined this scenario the other day and you threatened to fire me into the sun.

Anyway I look forward to continuing to adhere to the rules, as always.

Gentlemen!

You need to be careful with your inner AA. Sometimes he's a good co-pilot but sometimes he takes control and then whoops you've gained 30 pounds and then whoops 50 and then whoops you've outsmarted yourself out of your dream job and then yikes you're creeping around playgrounds at the wrong time of day and you don't even know where you bought these khakis and all the kids say you smell like souvlaki and then WOW you invent Souvlakhis ™ and die rich but lonely and empty inside except for all the spit roasted meats.

Primarily defensive SS Amed Rosario at #3. Apparently the fact that Nick Williams doesn't walk doesn't matter, but the fact that Rosario is a good defender does.

Bret Sayre is unspeakably bad at his only job. This isn't like, some guy who has to do a multifaceted job. He has to evaluate JUST OFFENCE strictly for the purposes of 5x5 fantasy baseball.

How he can be this bad at what he does is simply amazing. I'm of the opinion that it takes conscious effort.

PS, not walking might not be important in of itself for newb leagues without OBP, but it's a bad trait that can lead to a lot of inconsistency. See Carlos Gomez, Rougned Odor, Starlin Castro, etc. Professional baseball writer!

I honestly believe there are dozens of people just on this board that could do his job much better. It's weird, even the rest of the BP fantasy staff seems much more qualified.
