Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 There's not much utility in carrying 7 RPs tho Anybody wanna trade a SP for Koda Glover, Joe Jimenez, or Kevin Siegrist? An SP for holds?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 An SP for holds? I was thinking more like an actual SP, mid-to-back end type.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I was thinking more like an actual SP, mid-to-back end type. Talk to BTS he has a bunch of those guys.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Talk to BTS he has a bunch of those guys. I have no use for pen arms though. Dinger: Did Hurl contact you? We were discussing a three-way that may have included you.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 No, but I'm flattered and interested. TCA contacted me about a three-way but I think he was just being a cocktease.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2017 Author Posted April 11, 2017 Wow, Tomas is awful. I had the impression from other trade talks that TCA loved Musgrove.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Wow, Tomas is awful. I had the impression from other trade talks that TCA loved Musgrove. He's not terrible from a fantasy perspective. 31 HR and an .820 OPS, that's actually pretty good. He's pretty much like a Jay Bruce clone... he's useful as a second bat unless his defence becomes so s***** that no team will actually play him. And the Diamondbacks are dumb AF, so that won't happen.

If he is an .820 OPS player then sure, that's true, but he doesn't project to be and his profile points to a player that might not even wRC+ 100 I think he's about as good/valuable as my extra OF Scott Schebler, no exaggeration.

You may be right, but TBH I don't think Musgrove is anything special. I don't think he's ever going to be an SP1, 2, or 3 in this format. I offered like Joe Jimenez and a 2nd for Musgrove.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Wow, Tomas is awful. I had the impression from other trade talks that TCA loved Musgrove. I do have a thing for Musgrove. But I think Tomas will continue to hit for power, might even increase his BB rate as he moves into his prime. He just turned 26 this spring, so he might not even have hit his peak yet. I'm taking a risk that last year was a step forward for him. He also completes my OF, can't seem to rely on the Mets actually playing Conforto.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Also, I'm calling up Jose Peraza at this time. He can be removed from my prospects.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Holy s***, I had forgotten Correa and Buxton were from the same draft class, and a lot of people hated that the Stros took him over Buxton. These Tiger announcers just jogged my memory on that. Anyone know what year that was off the top of their head? NVM... 2012.

They should also mention how the Stros passed on Kris Bryant for Mark Appel, tho.

That's a bit of a slow start.

BTS Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 They should also mention how the Stros passed on Kris Bryant for Mark Appel, tho. What would you rather have: Bryant and Appel or Correa and Buxton?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 What would you rather have: Bryant and Appel or Correa and Buxton? Would make more sense to ask Bryant + Buxton or Appel + Correa How could you get 2 guys from the same draft class?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 What would you rather have: Bryant and Appel or Correa and Buxton? That's actually super tough. Appel is a definite zero but Buxton is quickly approaching dynasty dropability. I'd probably take the Bryant end cause he's just such a monster. Correa is less actualized.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Geeze... a lot of MLB players out of that draft.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 f***... no Donaldson today fellas.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Agree, Bryant + Appel. They should probably send him to the BP already.

I'd probably take the Bryant end cause he's just such a monster. Correa is less actualized. Correa is STILL only 22 and has 135 and 122 wRC+ seasons under his belt. I kind of think you take him over Bryant, whether it's dynasty fantasy or real life. Redraft would be Bryant.

Give me the Bryant side.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Are we talking dynasty or real life though?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 K-Rods been trashing me thus far.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Correa is STILL only 22 and has 135 and 122 wRC+ seasons under his belt. Bryant's fantasy ceiling is just stupid, and I don't think positional scarcity makes up the difference.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Are we talking dynasty or real life though? I think Bryant wins both and it's not close. Correa likely isn't a longterms SS, and even if he is he won't provide the value that Bryant does on neither defense nor offense. The 3 year age gap is not enough to make up the slight talent difference. Edit: Bryant is also an elite baserunner. It's just not close.
