Yeah, it's a lot of innings. Look how quickly Felix Hernandez went from Top 5 ace to (in many people's opinions) replacement level. Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, James Shields. You can have a reliable workhorse ace with a strong track record of health, but when you get up over 2000 IP, s*** can go south very quickly.

Apparently Contreras will be Lester's personal catcher this year, which is intriguing. He did a pretty great job calling games last season, according to Lackey. As a Contreras owner in BBDL, I approve of this - the more often he is penciled into that deep, productive Cubs lineup, the better.

Sort of seems like a more extreme version of what the Ruben was. Trading top assets from his farm for vets will help, but the roster isn't that old. Just an amazing dynasty build.

It's extremely daunting. And core pieces like Sanchez, Altuve, and Bogaerts are all in their mid-20s. Consider that one team in the division is at the rock-bottom stage of a full tear-down and the other three are kind of floating along as fringe playoff candidates, it will be years before anyone even takes a serious run at being a top team in the league, let alone win the division.
