I mostly put his name out there because there seems to be strong market demand for SP. He's not a guy I would sell just to get off the wagon; as a rule I don't sell low.

Well, I'm not sure that Boxy getting violated by njh is indicative of a shift in SP market value.

Boxy's irrational hard-on for Shaun Marcum 2.0 notwithstanding, SPs are a hot commodity.

On the block and probably better than Hendricks

Sometimes I wonder if you enjoy looking dumb. Like a weird sort of personal fetish.

Reminder that I want to sell a SP (probably not Rodon, but one of Gonzalez, Odorizzi, Chen, Wright, Kennedy, Gsellman, Cotton) for a 1B, 2B, or 3B. Willing to add picks/prospects/relievers for the right deal.

- Almost wins a Cy Young

- love for him is irrational.

Remember when NJH violated me for Wainwright?

I don't remember the details of the trade, but I'd easily take Waino over Hammel still.

I traded Meadows + Matz for Wainwright, and while I think I came out ok it would really suck to see BTS take me to school.

Was this the trade, BTS? Or a different Waino trade?

The Waino/Hammel trade between Boxy and njh

Anyway this is what Boxy got for Meadows + Matz (via Wainwright):

Jason Hammel, Ben Revere, Brandon Drury, Preston Tucker, Rubby De La Rosa

Boxy plz stop trading your good prospects away.

Yeah that first Waino trade was really bad. I must have been on drugs

My point is, you guys are reactionary idiots. I didn't make a bad trade. I doubt NJH thinks he absolutely robbed me. I like reading the reactions because they are exactly as predicted:

- I got a fair amount of risk for a fairly bankable asset so Dinger hates it

- I didn't trade for a platoon guy or 4th starter so BTS hates it

- I executed a trade at all so North hates it

- I traded for a pitcher with fantastic mechanics and very low injury risk, so Abom hates it

- BTS hates it, therefore GD hates it

I could go on and on. So predictable.

To be fair, Meadows and Matz weren't nearly as valuable then as they are now.

The last time I had an ace with fantastic mechanics and perceived low injury risk he put up a 4.5 ERA and his shoulder exploded. Actually there are a lot of similarities between the two. Hopefully Hendricks has a better follow up to his breakout season than Keuchel.

It basically boils down to this for me: great hitting young shortstops are the most valuable dynasty asset you can get. You traded arguably the best one for a pitcher who throws 88 and an outfielder who got demoted to AAA this year. Outside from Mike Trout, Correa is arguably the #2 dynasty hitter in baseball. I just can't comprehend trading that player from a team in your position. I hope you didn't get hosed, I really do. I think you bought high on Hendricks and will soon be filled with deep remorse.

Guys who throw sub-90 walk the razor's edge to be effective, this has been shown time and time again. Hendricks benefited from incredible defense and BABIP, there is very little chance he can repeat his 2016 success.

If you make a lot of trades, you're going to make some mistakes along the way. Particularly when trading prospects.

Just a fact of fantasy baseball.

It's usually the guys that can only agree to one or two trades a year, that lead the charge in ridiculing the bad trades.

If you're so scared of losing a trade, that you can't pull the trigger on any deals, you've already lost.

Kris Bryant >>>

Not to mention the 3-5 other guys who are clearly better and either had down years or are a few years oldsr.

I wonder who has made the most trades in DDL. I would guess me.

I'm guessing the top-5 are you, me, Boxy, silvergun, and KingKat.

Just check the doc! Its one of the columns on the 'teams' sheet.

You have made 92. Good for 2nd place. Our champion has made 97 deals however.

Here's how I look at it:

I think Correa is a 130 ish wRC+ guy going forward. I don't buy that he's the next Tulo. I'd take Seager over him right now. He is still a very good asset.

For this, I got a player with arguably more talent who needs to grow up and take responsibility. At his full potential, he can put up a 130 wRC+ in his sleep. Plus I got a pitcher that throws 88 with no other noteworthy characteristics and some 20 year old recovering from TJ.
