Hard to say what I would have done. I would have thought about it for a day and then maybe done it.

 

I think in all likelihood I would have counter-countered by trying to swap Hendricks out for, say, Sean Manaea. Or at the very least tried to keep Paddack if I was giving up Kopech.

 

But there were A LOT of different deals I was willing to do with different combinations of arms, as I told you. Everyone was in play.

That would only be true if I accepted a low return for him. I still consider him an SP2 with ace upside, he has a long track record of HOF stats and he's only 30. I expect I'll have to keep him until he recoups value.
