BTS Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I miss the bright lights of the DDL playoff stage
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Can we agree that if they have the DL+ next year that all our DL slots should be changed to this? Sure, but it should cost you a weekly add because reasons
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 It's all very complicated, and I felt like NJH misunderstood what I meant. That being said, rule us like a king! The long con is the best con. S'up?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I miss the bright lights of the DDL playoff stage I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm probably only going to win TAC this year, outside chance at Nox' ottoneu league and FC. I made the playoffs in all 5 of my Yahoo leagues, so it was still a good season.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Sure, but it should cost you a weekly add because reasons To put them on or take them off?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 To put them on or take them off? He wasn't being serious but it's true that adding players just to replace DTD guys wouldn't necessarily be a good use of your moves (assuming you have bench options). It would mostly be beneficial in September when DTD can mean anything from a single day to the rest of season and beyond.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Is there a reason why yahoo decided to use IR+ in hockey, but chooses to ruin fantasy baseball playoffs by not having a DL+, or is it just general yahoo incompetence?

Well baseball teams play every day so the day-to-day designation is a lot more literal (except for September) compared to hockey. In puck sometimes a team has like four days off and you'll see teams squat on IR decisions for frustratingly long periods of time. If your goalie is hurt but you only play once in the next six days you might not even bother IRing him for a week.

Yeah I basically was running short two rosters last week with Marte & Felix both DTD. Even this week now with Salazar, Folty, and Oh. They should do something about it because in September teams usually avoid placing guys on the DL if they get injured.

The one thing I like about Fantrax is that if a player is DTD or injured without officially being placed on the DL, you can place them on your injured reserve.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I'm pretty sure defeatism is BTS' game, lol @ this series being decided. It's not that I think it's decided already, I'm just not anticipating a victory. I don't have a two start week from Sale or Lester, which probably will matter a lot. If Andrew Miller would actually pitch this week, that would be great.

There's really no downside to having the DL+ though, as long as your league comes with weekly transaction limits. At least give the option.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 Jean Segura has 8 home runs against me already... this week... in the playoffs. He has 12 home runs in real life in the last two years TOTAL. Jean Segura
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 One of Jean Segura's legs is shorter than the other.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 A-bloo-hoo, MY free superstar shortstop isn't keeping pace this week... (But serious, goddamn Jean.) Sometimes I feel like you are a Leprechaun and everything you post is a riddle and in some way my life depends on understanding. http://www.fairyist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/leprechaun-horror.jpg

What about being able to track your minor league players in the system, instead of having to CTRL-F your way through a spreadsheet to see if a debuting player is already owned? That's kind of nice.

That's kind of nice. You still have to use Fantrax' s***** search tool, how is that any faster?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Oh lord... I don't know if I can take another season of getting buried by Rich Hill.
