Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Just the expected Coors adjustment period. Him and Tulo will spring to life around the all star break and carry both my teams to the ship Inside you're panicking and questioning everything you thought you knew about baseball.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I'll start the Richards bidding at Carson Fulmer. He's a prospect you've heard of before.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 Inside you're panicking and questioning everything you thought you knew about baseball. well that's definitely not true because I'm empty inside
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 well that's definitely not true because I'm empty inside Awww, me too, buddy.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 Awww, me too, buddy. oh so we're not counting anal beads?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I haven't taken the opportunity to brag about how much better Cano has been than Chris Davis this season, so I'm going to go ahead and do that now while I still can. Is a .392 wOBA good for a 2B?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I'll start the Richards bidding at Carson Fulmer. He's a prospect you've heard of before. I'll beat this offer with one of my guys.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Cano projects worse, which is all that matters. He also projected much worse before the season. Does that matter? Does position scarcity matter?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I would be amenable to exchanging Richards for a good prospect or two. Why not just DL him instead of cluttering up your farm ahead of the draft?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I mean, Cano's BABIP is currently 55 points lower than his career average, so if anything he's going to get better. Probably going to win a batting title and sock 30 dingers.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Why not just DL him instead of cluttering up your farm ahead of the draft? Holding a pitcher for their entire TJS ordeal is such a depressing experience.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 He also projected much worse before the season. Does that matter? Does position scarcity matter? Well my 2B is outperforming your 1B anyway, so suck eggs
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Boxy, you down for the 2016 version of Matz/Meadows for Waino? No but I am down with the 2016 version of Hammel++ for Waino.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Well my 2B is outperforming your 1B anyway, so suck eggs Irrelevant to our transaction.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Holding a pitcher for their entire TJS ordeal is such a depressing experience. Especially when they need to head for a 2nd one once they start their re-hab.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Holding a pitcher for their entire TJS ordeal is such a depressing experience. I guess but in terms of roster management, I'd gladly clear a couple of spots than I need to clear for the draft anyways and stash a DL guy.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Jose Altuve will have something to say about that. I'm really sort of hoping and praying that Altuve gets smoked on a double play and blows out his ACL, MCL, UCL, and meniscus.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Why not just DL him instead of cluttering up your farm ahead of the draft? There are only 5 guys on my farm that I wouldn't cut without thinking twice. I'm not worried about clutter.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 There are only 5 guys on my farm that I wouldn't cut without thinking twice. I'm not worried about clutter. Good point. I haven't looked at my farm too closely in this league but I might have more garbage than I realize. I didn't come in to the last draft as well informed as I like to be. What I fear is that I have too many Kolby Allard types, picks that are bad enough to be very regrettable but not so bad that you can afford to cut bait.

I thought I had a lot of cuttable trash on my farm, but perhaps not: Los Osos Blancos Dr. Dinger - (DD) 12 Prospects Carson Fulmer - Top 100 prospect, rough start, hold Braxton Davidson - cuttable Michael Lorenzen - probably should have already cut Francisco Mejia - breaking out, probably Top 100 at midseason Beau Burrows - first rd pick, decent start to pro career, not really cut bait Jon Harris - probably garbage but a firm hold for now Chris Shaw - breaking out James Kaprielian - fast mover, great #s, 1st rounder, not cuttable Jack Flaherty - shaky 2016 but made some Top 100s Frankie Montas - got his ribs removed so he could suck his own dick, I assume J.P. Crawford - future megastud Jorge Alfaro - breaking out, Top 3 catcher prospect, close to majors No real elite talent aside from Crawford but only two guys that are clearly droppable.

A lot of guys probably feel the same way about their farms. Only a couple teams have really bad ones.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 No real elite talent aside from Crawford but only two guys that are clearly droppable. That's generous towards Harris.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Let's see... Kolby Allard (ugh, seriously depressed asset but with real upside, have to keep) Walker Buehler (Who is this guy? What the f*** was I doing taking two consecutive pitchers from the draft class? Ugh. Keep, whatever. FML.) Ben Lively (Close to the majors, activate and see what happens) Ketel Marte (ditto) Manuel Margot (a guy) Daniel Norris (man what a headache he's become. Activate?) Nick Plummer (What the hell is wrong with me? Since when do I acquire guys like this?) Kevin Newman (I'm a believer.) Ruddy Giron (Another pick I hate.) D.J. Stewart (Really glad I at least had the sense to wait on him at the draft.) Renato Nunez (Solid B prospect.) So I can clear 3 spots by activating Marte/Lively/Norris. Margot, Allard and Buehler have to be kept. Nunez and Newman, I'll keep out of postive bias. That leaves me in a spot where if I want to make more than 3 picks I have to make uncomfortable decisions on Stewart, Giron and Plummer. Yuck.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 My farm is going to be crowded, I'll have to trade some of my picks likely. Will try to keep as many ppl down this year as I can. Lucas Giolito (what a s***-bag with his 5+ ERA... but I guess I'll keep him) Julio Urias (he better get called up this year by the Dodgers... but he won't be by me, shouldn't get too close to threshold) Jose De Leon (see above) Tyler Glasnow (see above, sub Pirates) Aaron Blair (will probably call him up if nothing else to clear space on the farm. Nomar Mazara (we'll see what happens to him when Choo comes back. I'm leery to call him up in case of injury) Dansby Swanson (killing it and up to AA. Keep obv) Brendan Rodgers (annihilating A-ball, keep obv) Jorge Mateo (getting caught stealing an inexplicable amount, but also hitting a lot better than expected. Keep) Nick Gordon (looking less and less likely to be impact, but will probably keep) Garrett Whitley (man I can't wait till SS starts up. Keep) Leaves me with 2 selections in the next draft (or to add prospects via trade; Hint Andrew Miller). 3 if I call up Mazara

You should do the exact total opposite of whatever you have been doing.
