Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I just realized that njh acquired Herrera and 5th from orgfiller for Brandon Guyer in LOD the other day. I have no idea how this happened, but I'm happy about it. It's so me to trade away a seemingly expendable piece and have them turn into a monster. Just ask Boxy.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Picking up Torreyes was such a KingKat thing to do but I just hated the idea that the might break out on another team.

BTS Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 That's one trade I remember being legit daytime drunk, probably should have balked when you responded with something like "so you want to give me Happ, Velasquez AND a pick for Sabathia...?" f*** sake. I would be very interested in receiving an offer like this from you.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Also may I be the first to congratulate Boxy on setting the DDL all time slugging record last week. What? For highest or lowest?
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Also may I be the first to congratulate Boxy on setting the DDL all time slugging record last week. No way
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Also I'm not quite done gnashing and thrashing about over gifting Jaime to Dinger after having the clairvoyance to keep him. f***! Rich Hill. DDL Finals MVP. Stfu.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 No way He did! very impressive. Way to go Boxy!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Also may I be the first to congratulate Boxy on setting the DDL all time slugging record last week. I'm not going to lie, I had no idea my offense was that good last week lol. Setting a positive record feels pretty cool!

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 So does beating a guy who set a positive record. Well I mean, I can't set too many at once. Gotta take it easy on you guys.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Man, I feel like I'd been waiting years for Aledmys Diaz to be added to Yahoo and the wait was worth it.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I'm gonna go ahead and put AJ Pollock on the block. Not sure what I'm looking for. I could go for a farm package, or something to help my team now.. probably an OF.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 Must be a mistake on Raul Mondesi Jr's baseball ref page. 1.150 OPS, already 3 HR and 5 SB, while being the youngest player in the Texas League? I'd probably consider trading him and Swihart for Pollock, min.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 Anthony Rendon has zero HR and zero RBI in 80 games last year he only had 5 HR and 25 RBI 20 grade produkshun. Talk about a fall from fantasy grace. Ryan Zimmerman also has zero HR and 1 RBI. Those are the two guys sandwiching Harper. Protection debunked.

Boston really served you a s*** sandwich by not letting him get 10 games at C before the demotion.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 You don't need 10 games to keep eligibility, you need 10 games or 5 starts. Isn't that only the in-season criteria? Not sure that would apply next year (though Yahoo! plays very loosy-goosy with that stuff anyways).

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 What he said ^ yahoo never removes eligbility earned the prior season
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 If a player gains or qualifies in one year, then they have it next year. Oh o.k. Didn't realize they applied the same criteria though it makes sense given how liberal they seem to be with that stuff. So Swihart definitely has another year of C even if the Red Sox follow through on their plan to make him a full time outfielder (yuck).
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 So what is Pollock worth anyway? He'll be back next year at 29 years old, and projections will probably dip a bit from his current 106 wRC+. The elbow is also a major point of concern going forward. On the other hand, he had massive age-26 and 27 seasons. Tough player to put a value on. Is he following the Carlos Gomez career path?

He's not an Evan Gattis type of defender, or hitter for that matter. They probably just want him to gain flexibility for potential 2016 purposes since carrying 3 dudes that can only catch is a bad idea.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 Do they even need Hanigan? Honestly, no. Not with Vazquez the elite defender back. Their best MLB roster would have Vazquez (best defender) and Swihart (best hitter). Makes sense for them to keep him around for a bit though, just in case Vazquez' elbow doesn't hold up. Golf claps on the despair trade tactics btw. It's a classic move.

Screw came loose and the thing lost structural viability, which is why it snapped so easy this time. I'm not sure how many times you can screw into someone's elbow and have them still remain a high level athlete. Would buy though. Great opportunity for one of the rebuilders.
