TRM Verified Member Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Is Jesse Winker the new Handsome Jake?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Is Jesse Winker the new Handsome Jake? Nah, Marisnick has defensive utility.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 You guys are going to be begging me to trade Jesse Winker soon. I can hear it now, "plz take Sale and Bumgarner! Do I need to add something else?"
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I'll check tomorrow whether my Colin Rea add was legal. I apologize in advance if it isn't.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Cant believe I have to waste Kershaw and Zimmermann's double starts on Boxy..
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I'll check tomorrow whether my Colin Rea add was legal. I apologize in advance if it isn't. Why wouldn't it be?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Cant believe I have to waste Kershaw and Zimmermann's double starts on Boxy.. Well as I understand it, you need as many Kershaw starts as you can get since he carries your entire team.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Before I drop him, does anyone wanna trade a pick for Fernando Rodney?
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Before I drop him, does anyone wanna trade a pick for Fernando Rodney? I think it's probably safe to drop him.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 But guys. He has the bulldog mentality. And clozer experience. He just keeps getting it done.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 The only reason to own Rodney is if you want to intentionally tank your ratios for a chance at a better draft pick. He is quite useful for that.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Miggy must be the most boring .440 wOBA ever. I really just take him for granted at this point and forget how incredible he is.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Whoa... Rodon pitched a CG?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Whoa... Rodon pitched a CG? I'd stick an asterisks by that. It was only 8 innings. So I feel it doesn't really count.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Whoa... Rodon pitched a CG? Plz trade him to me. Thx.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Rodon wasn't even good yesterday. He's had two useful starts since early June. Talk about an arbitrary timeframe... he's got a 3.86 xFIP, 9.6 K/9, 45% GB, 10.4 SwStr % as a rookie. The BBs have been ticking down and his BABIP is normalizing, the kid is a stud.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Plz trade him to me. Thx. Betances +
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/yankees-free-greg-bird/ Gotta counter this Rodon fluff.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/yankees-free-greg-bird/ Gotta counter this Rodon fluff. You know I'm on Team Bird!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 lol! You should be so lucky.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I wish Mitchell would write a long post where he demonstrates why his Mahalanobis Distance method matters. I'm not really convinced that there's much information gained in the process and he uses it for just about every call-up or prospect traded. Rodon is obviously very talented, but I don't think he's that useful right now in our league format. Bird is maybe a league average bat but his minor league numbers aren't that special for a 22-year-old first baseman. What would constitute special? A consistent 200 wRC+? You know who is really not that special? Reynaldo Lopez.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 You know who is really not that special? Reynaldo Lopez. I very much disagree. Anybody who throws 100 MPH as a starter is special.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 a truly electrifying performance, guys
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I very much disagree. Anybody who throws 100 MPH as a starter is special. You mean like Joe Kelly?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I don't think Bird is the next Goldy but maybe something like Lyle Overbay, and his power could play up more at Yankee Stadium.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 a truly electrifying performance, guys "Truly electrifying performance" vs. "Ringing Double" Two enter the cage, only one leaves? Which is better? Find out tonight.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Reynaldo's stats are actually pretty good now and he was just named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week after a truly electrifying performance. He surely shows up near the top of your stat-scout filters. A star in the making. Ladies and gentlemen: the forum's most annoying poster 2015.
