I think a lot of people are interested but since you value him at least highly as any of us, it's kind of a moot point.

The tarde has no winner yet. Either guy could fall off a cliff next year and it wouldn't be surprising at all.

 

I'll agree to this. Davis strikes out like it's his job and relies on Adderall to be good at baseball; Cano is old and plays in a s***** park. Neither is an elite asset moving forward IMO, but I wouldn't undo that trade if I had the option.

It's not just a slow start. Through 440 PA this year his PD stats are much worse than his career. He's played league a league average 2B through a pretty large sample size.

 

He's already been an above average-hitting 2B this year with the trajectory trending in the right direction. I'm satisfied. Contextually, that trade worked out well for both our rosters.

FWIW I don't really think I'm being unreasonable in wanting a good haul for a 130 wRC+ SS with no obvious red flags.

Nobody ever wants to pay the troll toll for a guy you picked up as a free agent this season, it's just the way it goes. It's gotten to the point where you should have no trouble getting a Top 50 prospect for him, though.

I didn't pick him up as a FA. He was one of my keepers.

 

For example, I asked for Alex Reyes in response to an inquiry and that was apparently a conversation stopper.

I'd probably give up Francellis Montas and Refsnyder. Boxy is too shrewd though.

That's more than I would offer probably, but not unreasonable to ask. Reyes is a monster in the making.

Which is why I'd rather trade Correa for, say, Giancarlo Stanton. Also so that I could wriggle my way into mocking Min for basically trading Stanton for old man Holliday and a retired guy.

I honestly think you'd regret that. You'd have Stanton + Crawford and be mediocre for a couple years before realizing that's not a good enough core to compete, then tear it down all over again. It's not like Crawford is 25, either.

It rings hollow coming from me, but I'd be hyping Correa just as much right now if I didn't own him. His numbers speak for themself. I strongly believe he's going to be a Tulo-tier SS.

Ugh, I hope the Mariners trade Brad Miller. He's been cleanly above average since getting to the majors, and they keep jerking him around. Why not just play your 25-year old 2-3 win shortstop every day and be done with it?
