K well your team is so good it doesn't matter. Congrats on getting your e-dick sucked.

Thanks. But I'm only 4.5 games up on 2nd. And I'm facing them this week. According to the Yahoo thing I've also had the easiest schedule up to this point.

Look at the 9th place team to see what was actually required though:

2014 - catsass 148-143-17

2013 - silvergun 148-136-24

15 games over 0.500 should definitely get you in. Possibly as little as 5 or 6 over.

Current 8th place team has a lower W% then the 8th place last year. Last year 2nd Leg ended with a .536%. This year Balco is currently in 8th with a .526%.

Looking to deal;

Joe Mauer

Jon Schoop

Aaron Hicks or Delino DeShields

Pedro Strop

Best offer for (like a pick);

Ike Davis

Ender Inciarte

Mike Foltynewicz

Possibly looking to deal (ie not desperate to move)

Andrew Miller

Francisco Rodriguez

I'm interested in seeing which closers I could get for my first round MLB pick.

Your 1st isn't that great, so maybe Brad Ziegler if you're lucky.

Jason Motte.

Or for best offer.

Yeah but I'm a fringe playoff team so it could end up being as high as top 10.

Maybe like a Santiago Casilla type, with a firm job but not elite numbers.

Probably a veteran closer ranked outside of the top 20.

Wow has it really come to this? Mediocre geezers for a projected 8-15th MiLB pick? It's makes me cringe knowing closers go for 3rd rounders in the offseason.

Totally different from offseason to trade deadline. I wouldn't trade Street for your 1st now, although I'd probably take your 2nd for him in the offseason.

Yeah understandably so considering in the offseason we're all scraping for room.

Someone will cave and give me a decent closer for a 1st.

don't let the jackasses in the playoffs set the market for you. Talk to the actual people who will be dealing with you.

Just don't ask me for Allen.

Bullpens are underrated. I've had a top-4 staff despite having only 3 starters that haven't sucked balls.

To be fair, it's a different story when you have Betances, Davis, Robertson, and Romo.

I'm sure no one else has anything close to that. It would be expensive trying to build one at that level.

I'm guessing you haven't looked at Silvergun's pen lately.

That top 4 of the rotation is pretty damn filthy too.

I've always found that you can build solid pens on the cheap. For example, Boxberger for me last season was a waiver wire pickup, and I believe the same with Kevin Siegrist earlier this season. I've also added some other solid guys off the waiver wire like Grimm, Jeffress, Vizcaino and Hoover. Basically my entire bullpen has been built off the waiver wire. I'd probably like another closer who can pick me up saves; otherwise all my arms have been posting up strong peripherals.

Thing is its tough to keep your entire pen, especially guys that you speculate on for saves. I had Jeurys Familia in both the DDL and FC last season (picked him up off the waiver wire) and didn't keep him past the cut. Huge mistake obviously, though I've been right and wrong on so many BP arms in the past, its really a lottery. Right now I'd obviously use two keeper spots on Boxberger and Kevin Siegrist. That could change obviously if someone like Vizcaino, Jeffress or Hoover find their way into the closers role by seasons end.

Everyone builds their pen from the waiver wire lol. It's not exactly a special strategy.

Also, Hoover and Vizcaino are not "posting up strong peripherals" (or picking up that many holds).

Excuse me, but 5/6 of by bullpen are trade acquisitions.

I wonder if Pomeranz has a chance to close in OAK. That would give me the glorious 3/3 reliever mix, maybe.

Looks like I got out in front of the #closerrush

It's always nice when you have a batter hit a bomb off your opponents SP.

I think Cody Anderson's voodoo has probably worn off.
