Yeah. Anything outside the top-100 is basically worthless.

It's a 12 prospect max, but that doesn't mean everyone has many top 200 prospects. There are a lot of obscure guys owned that will likely be dropped in June, and it's been a while since the last June draft so there are plenty of unowned top 200 guys. Farm strength also skews heavily towards a few of the rebuilding teams.

 

I probably have nine top 200 guys and I think that's pretty good.

I agree too! They have practically no value when compared to productive major leaguers. But it's still better to have a bunch of actual prospects in your farm than not. I also like my guys' chances of advancing into the top 100 by next year.

Yeah, I have no issues with the strategy, plenty of guys jump into the top 100 every year, makes sense. Was just poking fun at the top 200 comment.

I actually like the strategy of getting guys outside the radar. You essentially get them for pennies on the dollar as everyone just throws picks from the third round onwards away for almost nothing. Makes dealing top picks a lot easier and more worthwhile often times.
