The yearly wOBA leaderboards will have a lot of guys in their 20's, but most of these guys are a) functionally impossible to trade for in a dynasty league, or B) breakout guys from that particular season.

So if you want to move into a new year with bankable offensive production, you probably want most of your positions to be around 30, or a bit older.

You'd have to be the best drafter in the league by far + wait 5-10 years to get a studly offensive core that isn't around 30 years old on average.

Yeah. I learned that lesson the hard way this season when I penciled Gyorko and Bogaerts in for starting spots. Youth is nice, but it also comes with a higher likelihood of attrition, and trying to replace multiple bats midseason when 2-3 first or second year starters stumble a bit is pretty hard. I'm a lot more open to rostering 30+ year olds than I was two years ago.

njh is cool

Your OF and SP core are so f***ing enviable. And you've got elite elite prospects in Russell and Giolito underneath that team.

It's too bad that Mauer is losing C eligibility and Tanaka probably has to get cut in spring training.

Productive hitters in their early 30s seem to be routinely undervalued and sold pre-decline in dynasty leagues. I personally think that 3-4 years of being an elite contender is worth the 1-2 years I'll spend rebooting the team.

Joe Mauer won't have C eligibility next year, although I'm sure you already know that.

You might not even need to miss the playoffs if you're wise. Even this offseason you can nab an elite prospect for Ortiz, who you don't really even need.

I'm not so sure he could do that. It doesn't really matter how good of a hitter a guy is - if he's thirty f***ing nine, the only person that is paying market rate for him in this league is probably Dinger.

z3r0s cock is WAY big

Getting Wil Myers makes my gambling on the Taveras for Russell trade much less nerve-racking.

It sucked seeing Tanaka try to whole re-hab thing in season I was never going to compete.

yeah, but he'll be good insurance vs Singleton. Probably won't be a bad option as a DH with a rebound year. Still sucks tho.

Every team needs David Ortiz; the guy gets no respect. If Billy Muntler or Brandon Belt gave you 35/100 (in 142 games!), you'd be blowing them up big-time. I have absolutely no intention of trading David Ortiz, even if I could get Tyler Glasnow back for him. I fully intend to ride him until retirement, probably same goes for Pujols.

I was plenty happy to see that guy out of the division.

Who was more valuable this year, Ortiz or Lester?

Any time I think about jumping ship on a "broken" David Wright, I just make myself think about Ortiz' 2009.

Considering your woeful offense this year, Ortiz probably would have helped you more. Lester had a great bounceback year though, that's for sure.

I don't think I'll ever forget the True Cards' offense circa 2014. Not sure how you even made the playoffs.

It kind of seems like a a down year around age-28-32 more often than not gets followed up by a bounce-back season when it's preceded by a lengthy track record of success. Take pretty much any great hitter and you can identify a season where someone would have sold low and missed out on like 5 more years of great production.

I really hope not to go through that ever again.

He'll offer the first round bro, never happens. He's cheap as f***, I bought an entire round as long as Gerry did, 100 dollar rounds, his hands were in his pockets, same thing this year, he owed me drinks, nothing. (First rounds on me mate) BS!!

What in the world are you talking about?

Posted
The truth.

About what lol? This literally came out of nowhere haha. Are you implying that I'm cheap because I never bought an entire round like 5 years ago at the Jays game when we met Gerry? I was still a student back then dude lol and I'm sure I didn't have that kind of money to throw around especially buying beer for everyone at a Jays game of all places lol. Let alone for people I never even met before or just once.

Secondly, at the last game get together I did buy a round of Rolling Rocks for us (which I remember because that was the first time I ever drank that beer). And if you are upset that I didn't buy you more beer after the game, it wasn't my fault that they cut you off and as a friend I was greatly worried for your well being more than anything.

BS!!!!

Yeah I admit, as a student in my last year at UofT, I didn't have $100 back then to blow on beer at the Rogers Centre. So whats your point lol? I don't think guys like Chappy or Gibbers spent $100 on a round of beer for everyone. Though if you think that entitles you to being a big shot, then great!

Should I put a Remy gif. to do this right?

Yes. It calms us all down. Remy is good therapy lol. If you post a nice gif, I'll like your post.
