Laika Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Bourn looks like a shell of his former self at this point (~.315 OBP with 30 SB instead of .350 with 60). Pick 55 is good value for him but at the same time Dinger is probably happy that he doesn't have to try to trade him anymore, and he can just move on.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 He never did a goddamn thing for me, unless you consider tanking my OBP and SLG a thing. I hope he has more utility for Stachey. He was never going to play with Torii already riding the pine anyway.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Don't know what the Hurl was on, but that was awful. Oxy cocktails @ Spanky's
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 melky for marisnick and 28. So melky for 28. f u
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 What were the big league assets in this? To insert clever name: Yordano Ventura, Lucas Giolito, #88 To A Wrench In the Plan: #76 Didn't I also get Morse in that deal? Who I traded, didn't roster, and subsequently re-acquired this year? All according to plan
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 s*** dude... I actually forgot what you offered. So possibly two acceptable offers depending on what it was. Dear FTD, I don't think I made this clear enough. I literally have no recollection of what you offered and I can't find it in any of my inboxes. PM me please. If you made your offer as a trade proposal in Yahoo! and I didn't accept, I would have deleted the message a long time ago. I don't hold on to those. I will however backtrack on PMs to see who expressed interest in whom. Your pal, KingKat
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Common Boxy, Melky can net you more than that. *come on

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 The Pharm got the short end of this deal IMO. I'm not very high on Cain, though. Like the return most for z3rozzzzz
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Has Mauer caught a game this year? If he loses C eligibility his value plummets
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Has Mauer caught a game this year? If he loses C eligibility his value plummets That's what I'm thinking. It works out because z3r0s still needs a 1B-OTY, but Mauer might be a very mediocre 1B. Basically, think Billy Butler with less power. That's nothing to get excited about. Matt Cain and Pablo Sandoval aren't great either though. Sandoval hasn't shown solid power since 2011 and he's probably closer to a .750 OPS bat than an .800 bat. For Sammy, the deal is pretty much a coin flip IMO. Given his 3B is Freese, it makes a lot of sense on his part though so I like it. I also like that North covered his catching situation for the next 5 years. In heavy win-now mode, he managed to fill a future hole without significantly downgrading. I like North's end the best.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Has Mauer caught a game this year? If he loses C eligibility his value plummets Yup, I figure I'm going to use him as a catcher for this year and swap Pinto in there. I have an absolute void at 1B so I could use him there as a really solid ratio guy and hopefuly Singleton has finally bounced back to his top prospect ways. A bit of a risk, but I'm ok with it.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Has Mauer caught a game this year? If he loses C eligibility his value plummets No, he strictly a first baseman now. That was part of the motivation for me. z3r0s was desperate for a long-term first baseman, so he's happy with Mauer. And I assume he's confident in Pinto long-term. I like Cain a fair amount. Durability is very important to me and I think he can get back to being the decent #2 he was a couple years ago.

Durability is very important to me and I think he can get back to being the decent #2 he was a couple years ago. What makes you think this? Even when he was putting up #2 numbers, everyone was baffled to how he was doing it. He's 30 now, and he's the kind of guy where if he loses even 1 MPH of velocity, he will get Weaver'd. If his HR rate sits around league average, he's a very mediocre fantasy asset.

I talked myself into it though, I think you may be right. Its been a few years now since we saw that pop that could have made him a great 3b asset. Time will tell
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I had really high hopes for Sandoval this year and balked at the start when he was brought up in the trade. I think we all did when we heard he lost a gazillion pounds this offseason.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Mike Moustakas has hit like 3 HR's since acquiring him, though he's been on my bench haha.

Cain probably will continue to give up more homers and post a 3.5+ ERA, but he's always (even last year) been a great OBPA guy and the K/BB should continue to be decent too. And his PD numbers haven't really changed. I don't think there's a threat of sudden velocity loss either; he's been between 91.1 and 91.5 for five straight seasons. Maybe more of a good #3 though. The league has changed since he was a #2, lots of guys get more strikeouts.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 For teams looking for a young catcher, Travis d'Arnaud is OTB. Looking to package him with some other pieces for a big bat or pitcher.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Sandoval's valuable even if he doesn't get back to hitting lots of bombs. He's only 27 and his innate hitting ability will allow him to be an above-average option long-term. Sammy filled one of the biggest holes in the league with a good player, and he had pitching depth to spare. This trade is the quintessential three-teamer, really. Everyone filled their holes and at fair prices.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Weaver'd would be an awesome thing for him, how that guy still does it is beyond universal comprehension. I like it pretty well for all sides, but you have to like no49 getting McCann in his new digs, even if he looks like an upper management banker now. Deception is a beautiful thing. Hitters can't see the ball out of his hand because of the rock fountain in the batter's eye.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Froese at third was making me contemplate suicide sooooo...... Ya that's about it lol. Long story short anyone looking for a third baseman I have one in Froese lol
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I'm having flashbacks to Joe Morgan during the 2012 playoffs: "David Freese is becoming a superstar before our eyes."

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Billy Butler is absolutely killing me. Guy has two extra-base hits in 87 PA. You should have traded Butler to me in November! I offered a pretty good package. He should turn it around though.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Billy Butler is absolutely killing me. Guy has two extra-base hits in 87 PA. It seems that we are both having some power outages this week my god
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I don't remember this at all. You turned it down right away because it didn't fit your team. I said I could give you Glasnow, Piscotty and the #73 pick. Butler's the guy I was shopping in the BBDL thread a couple weeks ago. I like his skills.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 You owned Glasnow? No, I'm like the only person in the league who hasn't owned Glasnow lol. I had a deal agreed to with you involving him at the time. Ah. I rejected multiple offers from you outright because you offered me prospects/picks for roster players I had no intention of moving. I still wouldn't move Butler for that package. Yep, that was it. For whatever reason, your team has never fit into my deals. The needs don't work out.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 LOL to say the least. If I would have put these numbers up in my last 3 matches I would have likely been close to getting swept
