The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 My draft strategy involved avoiding relievers in the hopes I could trade for them down the road. Where did Joel Peralta go?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Most of those guys were taken after round 15 (if they were taken at all) Gose must have went in the first 15 though? Dat Speed
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Boxy I like your team a lot. I'm not a big Domonic Brown guy, but getting him 126 was a great buy. Your offense has everything, including a lot of youth. Above-average pitching staff too.

Thanks man, I don't like Brown much either but he was such an obvious value pick at that slot that I had to take him. I feel confident that I have the assets to fill out the rest of the team. Really just need a 2B maybe C a few RP and maybe a good starter, though I am very comfortable with the depth of my staff.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 How did you guys determine your initial June draft order? IIRC, we just did a random draw.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Looking to acquire a SP2/3, bats available (not Ed or Bryce) as well as my MiLB picks 8 and 32
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I'd deal a #1/2 for Ed or Bryce...
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Looking to acquire a SP2/3, bats available (not Ed or Bryce) as well as my MiLB picks 8 and 32 Wil Myers and a SP2 for Harper and MiLB pick
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 What part about "not Bryce" did you two find so confusing?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 What part about "not Bryce" did you two find so confusing? Sometimes "No" actually means "Yes"
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I'd probably give up two SP1/2s (Price, Bailey) for Bryce.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Sometimes "No" actually means "Yes" Does that motto ever get you in trouble? hahah
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I just wanna say that after reading the things going on in the BBDL draft right now that I like all of you guys very much and am very happy that we have the collection of owners that we do. Couldn't ask for anything better. For those of us who haven't been reading that thread as it develops, how about a quick play by play?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 it's Speedy Gose's birthday...avoid raping him until tomorrow
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 For those of us who haven't been reading that thread as it develops, how about a quick play by play? There was nothing significant. For some God unknown reason Stanton managed to drop to JFaS at 17 (like he needs the help), Wilko made a few odd selections (although they seemed to be pre-ranked there by him so I guess they were the players he wanted), and Ang kept picking owned prospects and had to be smacked. Overall it actually went nice and smooth I thought.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Overall not too bad. Other than me getting a top 5 guy at 18 (Giancarlo Stanton) and Wilko picking R.A. Dickey at 69. Also had 4 people draft owned prospects. Mocking and Ridicule and a stern scolding hopefully was issued.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I've got my share of Harper, so me and SG will be clinking beers when he goes 120/40/100/20.

SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Thanks guys! I eagerly await to see how wise you are, on a scale from dead frog - to Gandalf
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Happy Birthday Speedy! I'll contact you tomorrow with a wise offer... I would try at about midnight. Still wise enough to run his phone/computer however still s*** faced to know what he is doing.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Anyone want Alex Colome? I'll move him for pretty near anything.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Drafting a NL only 10 team auction for my friends dad (money league). Budget $260, 5x5 5 OF, 2 C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, MI, CI, UTIL, 9 Pitchers (any) Keeper salary raises by $5 Belt $14 Utley $17 Desmond $16 Sandoval $18 Carpenter $13 Venable $9 Blanks $10 Craig $9 Ruiz $12 Snider $10 Morneau $27 Simmons $20 Estrada $15 Miley $10 T Ross $10 Locke $10 Grilli $13 Vogelsong $12 Lee $25 Samar $8 Stammen $10 Who do you keep? He has Desmond, Craig, and Carp as keepers and maybes on Belt and Venable. I will advise also Samardjiza. How many keepers is he allowed?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Lee (worth any cost in NL-O), Shark, Craig, Carp, Belt, Desmond, Panda And Andrelton costs more than Desmond? That's pretty f***ed up.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Yeah you may as well keep Lee, accounting for inflation. Belt is a definite keep for me too.

My projections like Venable, but I'm not sure I'd do it. (does the keeper add $5 / year, or just once to designate?)
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 $5/year Belt might be iffy then if next year's cost is $19 (or did you already add next year's inflation into the costs?)
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 If anyone has excess pitching and need a decent outfielder, Austin Jackson is still available.
