Kris Medlen appears to blow out his elbow, and Los Osos Blancos take a not-insignificant step back towards the pack.

Initial diagnosis is a mild forearm strain.

Isn't a forearm strain the typical initial presentation of a partially torn ligament?

Dunno, maybe. Multiple places seeming to indicate that it's not too serious (although initial diagnosis aren't all that accurate).

I did a tiny bit of digging and it appears that most blown elbows these days are properly identified as elbow injuries or elbow strains right off the hop, although sometimes teams will use a more generic term like forearm strain, or actual forearm strains will be an early sign.

I dunno. Pending further Dr. examination, obviously.

What??? My last story, I was only 17 and I scooped up just over 500, another time in my local pool hall drowning spot, I found a money clip, of 2 and change plus a package.........booooyaaah!! *goodtimes*

Edit: And that was the pool hall overstanding the rocker bar, lol......where I picked up the 500 plus.

How many times have you gotten wasted and LOST your wallet at the bar or in a fight? Is it a zero-sum game?

I personally rarely ever carry more than $100 cash. In today's electronic society, there's really no reason to.

I hardly carry any cash as well. I use credit cards for all my purchases and collect a ton of reward miles, then pay off any purchases I made online. I had a free flight to Australia this January after collecting for 4-5 years.

I don't think it's normal for any sane, non-drug dealer to carry that much cash. I just don't see the point. Anyway, I kept the cash but I turned in the wallet at Union Station.

Buying us all a round of beers on the 5th?

in the 90's when I played a lot of cards...I always had at least $200 on me. I seldom carry any cash anymore, and my wallet doesn't even have a cash section. It's just full of stupid rewards cards.

Who is going to the game? and what section are we in?

I am going. We should all meet up at Corks and go there after for some good beer!

Yeah, under our current rules he's rule 4 bait unless the Cards add him to the 25 man before then.

I'm confused, he is an international free agent. Had he been in the database, he would have been eligible to be drafted in the rule 5. If he is added before being sent to minor league camp, is he still off limits? I'd have figured him to be treated differently than CJ Edwards.

I don't think he falls under any current rules so it's something that we just have to make a judgement call on.

We said that international free agents in the system before the rule 5 started were eligible to be drafted / added later.

We said that prospects that hit AA were eligible to be drafted / added later.

We said that prospects that played but didn't hit AA last year are frozen until the rule 4 unless they are added to an MLB 25 man.

I can see the argument for letting waivers sort out guys like Aledmys Diaz. The waiver system is built in, so it's a rule that we don't really have to monitor or anything, which is nice. Having midseason international signings that hit the system be subject to waivers also makes waivers more interesting. And it is a small reward for attentive teams that might notice when someone hits the Yahoo system. It's also in the spirit of competitive balance since bigger name guys like MAG, Abreu, etc., can be claimed by poorer teams if they hit the system mid-season.

What does everyone else think? Let's do a quick survey of fools.

MAG would have definitely been subject to waivers if he signed last year before the season ended, so the way we worked last year would have had Diaz as waiver bait whenever he hits the system.

Since we're doing league PRs, here are my rankings that I submitted to FTD:

1 Twist and Trout

2 True Cardinals

3 BALCO Pharm Team

4 2nd Leg to Stanton

5 Butt Stallions

6 WAR Puigs

7 SpeedyGose

8 Taijuan On!

9 (insert clever name)

10 ISO Horny

11 Triple Hawpe Brewed

12 London Slayers

13 The Lyon Tamer

14 Oppo Taco

15 Gryffindor

16 B.Inge Drinking

17 Georgia Peach

18 Jurassic Kats

19 Bye Week

I graded each team on offense, pitching, and farm (some promotions were assumed) on the 2-8 scale and added up the totals (farms weighted 0.5). I won't disclose individual grades for courtesy, but I will say I graded one 8 and seven 7s (4 were farms).

Everyone outside the top 6 was really hard to rank. I think all of these teams have a solid shot of making the playoffs this year:

SpeedyGose

ISO Horny

Triple Hawpe Brewed

London Slayers

B.Inge Drinking

Taijuan On!

Brandon Marlins vs Reston Rockets.... A classic showdown

To be dead honest with you I did not see one MSBL game last season. But I usually like to go and watch the Brandon Cloverleafs and the Marlins usually always top 2 in the league.

Oh I am sorry we can't all live in the big smoke with your professional ball teams and crack smoking mayor who thinks he is Jamaican.
