NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Wow. I like Belt a lot, good trade BTS.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Very surprised to see BTS give up Salazar, not that Belt isn't a fine hitter.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 I didn't think he'd give up Salazar either
TRM Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Anyone else plan on getting their rankings in? (LOOKING AT YOU REALMIN/BOXY) Otherwise I'll go ahead and compile them. Tonight
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 JFaS' Steamer based player rankings from a few months ago had Salazar #73 and Belt #79 for 7x7 leagues.
TRM Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 JFaS' Steamer based player rankings from a few months ago had Salazar #73 and Belt #79 for 7x7 leagues. Can someone link that to me?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I like Salazar a LOT. I'd take him over Cobb any day of the week.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 I like Salazar a LOT. I'd take him over Cobb any day of the week. Yeah, pure upside. The thought of Salazar breaking out huge and having him and Scherzer throwing down two or three double-digit strikeout games every week is pretty enticing.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 Can someone link that to me? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiKIdMktKhYNdExxYUhpb05wT2J1ZXJGTkVQNElDdVE&usp=sharing#gid=0 Pretty sure Steamer has been updated so that will be a little bit off.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 Three rash trades in an hour or so. I feel filthy.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 And now North and Havok make an interesting swap. Trades be happening. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of either Singleton or Johnson.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 And now North and Havok make an interesting swap. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of either Singleton or Johnson. It's a challenge trade! I'm banking on Singleton's bad 2013 being the product of drug abuse.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I just wanna say that after reading the things going on in the BBDL draft right now that I like all of you guys very much and am very happy that we have the collection of owners that we do. Couldn't ask for anything better. Go eat a dick.
TRM Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 It's a challenge trade! I'm banking on Singleton's bad 2013 being the product of drug abuse. I'm interested in Singleton if you wanna move him again, North.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I'm interested in Singleton if you wanna move him again, North. I'd move him along for the right value. Not sure what I'd want from your team... PM me you if have any specific ideas.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 It's a challenge trade! No it's not, lol.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 No it's not, lol. lol aren't all straight-up prospect for prospect trades 'challenge trades?' It's hard to find a clear definition. The Montero-Pineda trade was reported to be a challenge trade.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 My understanding of a challenge trade has always been similarly aged players at the same position getting dealt. I guess similar costs too. Most trades are influenced by salaries, positional needs, and age. A classic challenge trade is pure player vs. player
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I'm interested in Singleton if you wanna move him again, North. I might have some interest in Singleton if you want to move him after you acquire him from North.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 How come I can't see the North trade? It's not showing up in my transactions. I can only see the 3 trades njh made. EDIT: Nvm, I just saw the thread.

The front 4 of your rotation is solid and you have some nice back end guys to fill it. Other than a few holes (Weeks, possibly Grandal if he doesn't take a step forward) the offense is good. It appears to be what I imagine is league average. You have youth on your side with a lot of the starters though which is always good. I would have to see all the teams to make a call on whether or not you're a playoff team. PS - The BBDL only has 3 RP slots or you only drafted 3?

TRM Verified Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I like it quite a bit. I imagine it's gonna be tough to punt saves and win. If you're in contention, you'll have to pick some closers up at some point I would guess.

You can get them much later than closers, and you'll beat 90-100% of the league in holds.

Looks playoff worthy. A lot of young guys on the right side of 30. A Lot better then your DDL team.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 A Lot better then your DDL team. Most of those guys were taken after round 15 (if they were taken at all)
