Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I had Hill on the block for a long time, didn't think my price was outrageous, sent out like 3 league blasts offering him and I got hardly any bites. He's not really gonna fit in my plans and I want to cash in on him while he's got value. For where I am, I think this is the type of move I gotta make. It all depends on what you think of Rodon, and it's also a nice position to be in where I have the first 2 picks in the draft. I might have paid a high price but I wouldn't have done it last year with no top clear #1 guy.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Now I feel like I should trade for Bruce Rondon. Rendon, Rondon, Rodon.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Do you have some kind of weird fetish for same/similar names... You have 2 Anthonys, 2 Drews, 2 Erics, 2 Matts, 2 Austins, 2 Davids, 3 Joes, 3 Justins
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Castellanos = 15 Crick = 32 Fried = 43 Bell = 74 (I knew a jump was coming, but this was unexpected) Every pick I made in the June draft whiffed completely. None in the top 100.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Hey Boxy, Baez is rated above Correa and Gray is rated above Stephenson. Suck my balls.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Buxton = 1 Seager = 34 Sanchez = 47 Wong = 58 Cole = 69 Piscotty = 98
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Anyone want to brag about their MLB.com top 100 guys? I do! Bogaerts = 2 Syndergaard = 11 Glasnow = 27 Lee = 84 Alcantara = 89 At the start of the offseason... Bogaerts, Sano, Springer, R. Montero, Alcantara, Soler, Mason Willams, and wherever Danny Salazar and Zunino would be if they were was still prospects.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I'd brag about all the studs I drafted but I traded them.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 At the start of the offseason... Bogaerts, Sano, Springer, R. Montero, Alcantara, Soler, Mason Willams, and wherever Danny Salazar and Zunino would be if they were was still prospects. Your FC farm is pretty nice. Here was mine at the start of the offseason: #5 Bradley #10 Lindor #11 Syndergaard #14 Gray #23 Sanchez #31 Gausman #35 Ventura #39 Alfaro #71 Dahl #90 Berrios That ought to thoroughly beat the s*** out of any DDL farm.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Hey Boxy, Baez is rated above Correa and Gray is rated above Stephenson. Suck my balls. 45 - Austin Meadows, OF (PIT) 48 - Clint Frazier, OF (CLE)
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 10-team leagues FTL. Agreed, I only play 20 team dynasties.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 3 - Oscar Taveras 13 - Gregory Polanco HM 20 - Dylan Bundy 28 - Alex Meyer 35 - Yordano Ventura 40 - Kohl Stewart 44 - Lucas Giolito 66 - Delino DeSheilds Jr 85 - Rafeal Montero All-in-All a pretty good farm if I do say so myself.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Time to capitalize on these rankings... SELLING JOSH BELL AKA YOUR #74 PROSPECT IN THE ENTIRE MLB.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Wow you have some nice depth man.. and I'm not just saying that because you have the stud that is Zach Lee. Yea to bad my mlb roster is a steaming pile of crap.
torontofan Verified Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 16 - Jameson Taillon 31 - Kevin Gausman 36 - Joc Pederson 59 - Rougned Odor 91 - Jorge Bonifacio 94 - Taylor Guerrieri
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Who I have right now: 5 - Archie Bradley, #1 Pitcher 17 - Mark Appel, #6 Pitcher 24 - Austin Hedges, #2 Catcher 75 - Mason Williams 92 - Joey Gallo, #9 3B I feel like I should have more top prospects after finishing 19th last year. Who I had but traded: 23 - Aaron Sanchez -> Cliff Lee 27 - Tyler Glasnow -> DeShields 29 - Andrew Heaney -> DeShields 33 - Jackie Bradley -> Jonathan Papelbon, MiLB Pick 49 - Jorge Soler -> Yu Darvish 66 - Delino DeShields -> Justin Upton 69 - A.J. Cole -> ? 80 - Matt Davidson -> Aaron Sanchez 83 - Jimmy Nelson -> Jonathan Papelbon, MiLB Pick 85 - Rafael Montero -> Justin Upton I've come to the conclusion I've cycled a lot of top 100 prospects through my system.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 So lets see a league vote on who has the best farm system. I think the contenstants are JaysFever and myself unless anyone else think they should be considered. Prospects go from highest to lowest rank and there is 1 honourable mention category (reason should be clear when you see them). Who reigns supreme at not actually reigning supreme in the yahoo league!?!?!?!?

Jays Fever's Prospectsz3r0s Prospects

9 - Kris Bryant3 - Oscar Taveras

29 - Andrew Heaney13 - Gregory Polanco

46 - Allen Webster28 - Alex Meyer

49 - Jorge Soler35 - Yordano Ventura

51 - Colin Moran40 - Kohl Stewart

52 - Lance McCullers44 - Lucas Giolito

54 - Mike Foltyniewicz66 - Delino DeSheilds

57 - Garin Cecchini85 - Rafeal Montero

63 - Zach LeeNR - Danny Hultzen

72 - Michael ChoiceNR - James Paxton

88 - DJ PetersonNR - Jonathan Schoop

96 - Trey BallNR - Nick Cuiffo

HM - Carlos MartinezHM - Dylan Bundy

JF has a better quanityt of top prospects (according to MLB.com's list). z3r0s has more talent in the top 50. JF has a ton of guys in the middle of the list. z3r0s has a few interesting unrated players. What are the thought around the league in this battle of bad MLB teams!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 It's all about the top end for me, and I'd take OT/Polanco/Giolito/Ventura/Bundy over Bryant/CarMart. Depth is nice, but I don't have a ton of faith in most of the guys outside the Top 20.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I like the f*** out of TorontoFan's system and the bastard knows it even if he won't trade with me.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I like the f*** out of TorontoFan's system and the bastard knows it even if he won't trade with me. I love Gausman and Taillon but that's about it. Joc and Odor should be 2nd division fantasy guys but I don't see any other impact guys. A lot of teams have a nice Top 2-3 prospects. Speedygose has Russell/Stephenson/Zimmer, spanky has Taijuan/Gray/Almora, BTS has Bogy/Syn/Glasnow, catsass has Bradley/Appel.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Gotta go with the more high end talent. Zero's is the best out of the 2. I'm not even sure JaysFever's farm is the second best. He has a lot of depth, but Bryant is really the only high end guy. Also, I can't believe there's no mention of North49's farm. Gotta be one of the top ones. I can't see how it can't be.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 The rankings are also based on real life talent and not from a fantasy perspective. If I was offered 13th Polanco for 49th Soler Id turn it down.

Factor all that in and he's pretty well stocked for the future.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 45 - Austin Meadows, OF (PIT) 48 - Clint Frazier, OF (CLE) Thanks buddy, but somehow this won't count.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Really? You can't? http://i.imgur.com/hF2qQq6.gif All day, Every day. ps: It was a joke, does he even have a prospect in the top 100?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Thanks buddy, but somehow this won't count. We're talking about the honourable mention in my own personal, subjective, and quickly assembled 1st round BBDL primer.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 We're talking about the honourable mention in my own personal, subjective, and quickly assembled 1st round BBDL primer. Where you said "Meadows isn't even close" and also, you're telling me to suck YOUR dick for Gray ranking higher than Stephenson. So it looks like we will both be sucking each other's dicks.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Well Baez was higher than Correa too, especially for fantasy. So we can 69 but you have to play with my butt too.
