As far as I'm aware it's because they showed him on tv at game two then the Leafs scored. They showed him on the jumbo-tron game three and Matthews scored shortly after to start the comeback. So he's the "good luck charm". Dudes getting free playoff tix, won't be going away anytime soon.

I don't think the Flames could've played any better than they did for, like, 95% of this series. A couple of key undisciplined penalties and weak goals against helped do them in, but they outplayed the Ducks for the majority of the series.

 

It feels so weird to see them out in four. This series could just as easily be in favor of Calgary right now.

Anaheim basically got better goaltending and more timely scoring. Definitely looking at a longer series if a few small variables swing the other way.

 

That being said, Anaheim was missing it's most relied on Dman in Fowler and another top 4 guy in Vatanen, with Lindholm also banged up. I think it speak volumes that they came away with a sweep regardless of how they pulled it off, and they should be that much stronger next round after some much needed rest.

Good. One of the most disgraceful acts of poor sportsmanship and cowardice I've ever seen. He got only 10 games when the other three major leagues would have issued at least a year ban for that. The NHL has slowly been trying to clean up it's act but is still far behind the standards of the others.

It's a difficult case since he was clearly concussed and had no idea what he was doing.
