My team is out cause they have no killer instinct and are a playoff joke.

And I too would love to see the Habs collapse like a dollar store lawn chair.

Love the Leafs fans and their tears... LOL

Habs arent even gonna be in the playoffs next year Lol

Enjoy it while it lasts

Would the Habs have even made the playoffs this year if the divisions were as per normal? 18th best record.

No, and they would have most likely finished significantly worse than 18th.

Ridiculous. Do Jays fans cheer for the Yankees and RedSox when they get eliminated from playoff contention?

The whole notion of cheering for a rival when your team is out is nonsensical.

When every NHL team south of Colorado is wiped off the face of the earth, maybe then I'll think like that. I'll cheer sports the way I want, and you can cheer whatever lame way you think makes sense. Go Habs.

I'd never root for that franchise, ever, I can't stand anything Habs, I'll choose to see and cheer for a Knights/Lighting Cup... I gave a friend 4 to one odds on both series, down to best of 3 with the better teams with home ice. Go Knights/Lighting Go!

Every American is laughing at you for not cheering for your own Canadian team, but hey, it's your business.

Uhmm... there's Canadian players on every roster? Idgaf about American fans, lol. This isn't the Olympics or a IIHF event. You honestly think I'd expect you to root for the Leafs if they were left, lol. C'mon... give your head a shake!

No franchise in an American city cheers for a rival when their team gets knocked out. Your info is bogus.

Doubling down on it is doubly dumb.

Both series has been pretty good hockey. I'm not taking anything away from the Habs and Isles, they've done more than I expected.

Good for them for getting it done. I'd be happy if I was a fan of either team.

Here's my bottom line...and it covers all sports. if my team can't win, then f*** every other team. Now. Obviously someone is going to win...and I'm not going to like it cause it ain't my team. So...if I am going to have any sort of preference, I want it to be the most talented team. I want talent and skill to prevail if I have a choice. That isn't the Habs or the Isles.

Ok, lol. That's why I'm rooting for the Knights and Lightning, for a great final, plus I have money on them.

I'm f***ing with you guys, I hate the Leafs with a passion and love your tears... LOL

Losing to the Habs is a kick in the nuts

I don't get why you keep trying to troll me, it isn't working. I haven't talked s*** about the Habs since they eliminated the Leafs, well until I literally had to spell it out for a couple of you guys. GO KNIGHTS GO! ;)

I was 11 years old and maybe our media blew it out of proportion but I do recall a significant anti-Canadian sentiment for the 1992 World Series.

I also recall a lot more clearly around 15-20 years ago there was a poll done about which teams should be contracted or moved. The Expos were clear #1 which unfortunately made sense. The Jays were #2, ahead of the Florida teams, the A's, the Pirates and any other team that could be considered in a worse market and have greater financial struggles than the Jays. They don't think Canadians are worthy of *their* pastime, we should feel the same way about hockey.

The fourth seed in the North division took out the (tied for) "best team" in the league in six games. Conclusion: the North division was significantly underrated.

So the Habs are now 12-5 when things count the most and no participation points are given for getting into overtime. Is that enough for people to concede that they aren't a mediocre team and belong exactly where they should be?

If people have been watching sports for decades and still believe that playoffs aren’t efficient at separating good teams from mediocre ones, I’m not sure why this season in particular would change their minds.

Each team faced the same 6-7 teams a bunch of times this year. This year would certainly be an exception to the norm if there is one.
