Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Can someone explain to me why Kevin Hayes got 7 years @ 7.14M? UFAs get disgustingly bad contracts. We see multiple examples every year, right from the day the deal is signed you just know they can't live up to it. At best Hayes is a $5M guy on your second or third line, 7x7 is just absurd.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Corey Perry bought out. Can see him landing in Toronto on a cheap deal once they've cleared Marleau and Brown. Perry just bought a $7M home in London.

When he played for the Knights he was banging this skank I worked with, and it was like dude, *I* can do better, wtf.

Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Old man Marleau to the Canes for a 6th rounder. One down.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Old man Marleau to the Canes for a 6th rounder. One down. Along with your 2020 1st (top 10 protected). Pretty bad signing by Lou
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Wow, 1st rounder to get rid of Marleau. What a terrible signing that was.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Do the Leafs trade for PK? Devils
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Do the Leafs trade for PK? Pretty sure the Leafs can't afford PK.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Pretty sure the Leafs can't afford PK. If Nylander had been in the deal it would have worked well.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 If Nylander had been in the deal it would have worked well. Didn't Dubas state that Nylander wasn't getting moved?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Didn't Dubas state that Nylander wasn't getting moved? I doubt that would be a real obstacle.

BTS Community Moderator Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Sergei Zubov and Guy Carbonneau seem like unworthy HOF inductees.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Sergei Zubov and Guy Carbonneau seem like unworthy HOF inductees. The hockey hall of fame sucks. Guy Carbonneau's reputation is/was an elite defensive player I am guessing? 260 goals in 1318 career games is not that good. He's like if Patrice Bergeron was half as good as he actually is.

Career high of 57 points while playing through the highest scoring era in hockey history. Might as well induct the John Maddens and Rob Niedermayer's of the world.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Sergei Zubov and Guy Carbonneau seem like unworthy HOF inductees. Zubov sort of quietly put up quite stellar numbers. 771 points in 1068 games is a very impressive NHL career for a Dman and he had similarly great playoff numbers as well. He really does stack up quite well with the best D of that era.

Worst Hall in Sports. If they use comparison's at all, it puts Jere Lehtinen as a borderline HOF'er.

Who? lol... who's he compared to, Carbonneau and the oversized shin pads, lol. Pierre Turgeon keeps getting skipped, it's an atrocity.
