Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 My first Bruins/Leafs playoff memory was it being like 10-0 for Boston and Quinn hurt Bobby Orr and in the ensuing riot Forbes Kennedy fought the whole B's bench and slugged the linesman (getting a life suspension) It has been just as painful the other times we've faced the B's to varying degrees. Not a penny on the Leafs. Mentioning stuff that happened 50 years ago or even five years has no relevance to today since the rosters have churned many times over. That being said, my pro-Leafs stance because Gooooooo Canada!!! is not really that much of a thesis either.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 You forgot Ottawa. No I didn't, Colorado owns their pick, lol.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I think he was being facetious Possibly, but I know he roots for Canadian teams.

I don’t know much about this draft, but Tkachuk at 4 last year is probably better than #4 this year.

Sometimes men who watch sports like to go over the old times, especially since the Leafs have rarely entered the playoffs with any hope of a second round. Reminded a friend about the 1981 series with the Islanders Dynasty where they basically crucified the Leafs 3-0 on the way to a SC. He had erased that one completely.

Funny you should post this on a Jays board where many reminisced about 92-93 for the longest time before they finally hit paydirt again in 2015.

Those were good days as well, the Bills and Leafs and Jays were at worst in the semi-finals those years...
onwego Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) You seem to have forgotten the back to back 92-93 seasons. yes, for cheering from 1971 there was.... beating the Isles in 1978 92-93 and two other semi final exits after that so that's....... 5 years since 1971.... oops, in 1986 they got in due to the abomination of the Norris Division with 25 wins and got to game 7 of the second round of the abomination of the Norris Division playoff scheme. for a few years in the mid-70s they took on the Broad Street Bullies in some memorable bloodbaths, won the first 2 in Philly in 1977, then choked a 3 goal lead away in the last 7 minutes at MLG in game 4.... wasn't meant to be.... P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Great start for the Penguins. Edit: Nevermind, looks like this one's coming back due to an offside. Edit 2: Holy f***, the Islanders have come to play. They get an early one anyway.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 f*** you can say what u want about the Isles fans but s*** they’re rowdy and loud.

St. Louis should have told the media to get f***ed instead of forcing him to address them. The tweets weren't even offensive.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 lmao those aren't even offensive Of course they're insensitive and offensive. I don't know why, but they clearly are. Disagreeing with anyone who finds something offensive offends them, so that's probably it. Seriously though, why are people wearing burkas going into bars in the first place? Shouldn't that be like the first red flag for a bouncer that someone's trying to pull something? That would be like seeing someone dressed as a Tibetan monk walk into a brothel. THAT joke was probably more offensive than what Binnington said lol.
